Just wondering if anyone has had a Barbotage procedure?
I have calcium building around a tendon in left shoulder.

Never heard of it, but looked it up.
Seems like a standard procedure. And has a high success rate.
I would certainly do this first as the next step, if untreated or unsuccessful, would be surgery.
When they did my shoulder they set a nerve block in. This was basically a needle with god knows what in it that was poked around and the liquid injected at various sites. I was able to watch the injections on an ultrasound. You should ask to see the procedure if it’s only done under a local anaesthetic.

They ended up doing a steroid injection,
So far so good,
Shoulder pain has gone.

Great news.
Steroid injections are temporary though, hope they explained that to you.

Absolutely.
Had one in my back a few years ago. For four days I thought what a waste of time and money. But then it kicked in and oh my word! Such relief.
But 12 months later the pain returned. Lucky for me a few exercises helped me avoid another jab.

I used to get them in my discs pretty often (under the guidance of a pain management specialist). After the local when they do the cortisone injection, that slight feeling of pressure like someone is pressing on your back is one of the weirdest sensations ever.

I used to get instantaneous relief. I would lie in the recovery room facing up and I felt like I crawl on the ceiling like Spider-Man when I got sensation back in my toes and feet. Best feeling ever.

Where the tumour was removed in 2018 what can only be described as a puss ball had formed, due to poor drainage of the sinuses.
This was causing the eyeball to be flattened, though an eye test last year showed no difference in prescription from 3 years previous.
In Dec 22 they tried to remove it by going through the nose but could not get through regrown bone.
So, slice above eye, remove some bone, remove puss ball and all things that can make it occur again.
As usual 5 star service at St Vincent’s. And this time I insisted on my preferred surgeon who was on sabbatical in Dec 22…..

I had it years ago but didn't know about it, pain is sheer hell. Poor you.

Sure is painful Maggie alas I had to wait four days to see my doctor,he told me off as in I should have called him.
I had no idea that was an option just went with the hot doc booking system.
Taken a course of Valaciiclvir spoke to a new doctor today and he has put me on some kind of nerve blocker see how that goes.
Seems shingles effects people that have been through Radiation + Chemo and stress.

Hope you recover fully soon. I had it twice in my 20s - once on the back of my lower left leg, once on my right shoulder blade. It's a basket of a thing. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy (well I might make an exception for someone like Trump or his ilk).

That’s what I’ve always heard, but I don’t know if it’s true or not.

Good question Black_White I did have chicken pox as a kid.
