Not corruption, because no one was lining their back pockets.
Certainly incompetence.
Which makes you wonder.
Shouldn’t the original post be “reasons not to vote Coalition ever, ever, ever again part #26,982”?

Just because someone doesn't profit from an action doesn't exclude corruption.

Anyone who watched any part of the Robodebt RC would know that the problems far exceeded incompetence.

The NACC's statement was clear in its implication that it wouldn't go after the people who were referred to it because they don't really have the power to do so.

That's Labor's folly.

it's an interesting case of classification. i've seen people have meetings to deal with matters and the response is to elude responsibility, mitigate damage etc. It isnt to fix the issue. It's all in the minutes so it cant be corruption. It's accepted. Governments have huge media depts to reframe the news etc. It's the done thing by both sides. Did scomo make money from robothing? obviously not although i wouldnt put it past him. He just wants to lie to the electorate so that his ass is covered and he got re-elected for more glory to god. obviously not corruption. There seems to be an unrealistic expectation of politicians - which was why i commented.

I think just about every casino in Australia has been found guilty of money laundering.
Certainly Crown and Star.
Now SA and I think you’re right about WA.
How they can be found to be “fit and proper” to hold licences, all of them, is staggering.
Still, anyone who gambles truly doesn’t understand that the house never loses.

of course. its the nature of the business. They have to be shady to get the chinese crims in, in order to make the big bucks. Obviously, the casinos need to hide it better, thats all that gov'ts ask for. Be more discreet. I think the casinos get sloppy because they're probably giving free meals to pollies or maybe more.

If you understand the system, you really shouldn't use phrases like "fined $70m for money laundering". That's not what happened.

i'm not a news service wipey.

The Federal Court has ordered the operator of Adelaide's casino to pay a $67 million fine in a money laundering case brought on by AUSTRAC.

sue the ABC now.

In reality, they were probably fined for making a public mistake...something that can audited. The casinos need to keep their shady stuff in the shade...

You might think it semantics but the casino wasn't laundering money. And that extract doesn't state that. You disappoint me yet again.

bless me father for i have sinned....

semantics.... casinos run a loose ship to lure in the crims...irrespective of whether enforcement agencies can or will take them to task.

Caulfield Hospital is a very valuable resource. I had mates growing up who lived in Lockhart St and the cut through from the hospital to that little lane that pops out on Glenhuntly Road was invaluable.

No need to cut through in the future zevie..

and yes I understand that the hospital is a valuable piece of real estate. I'm not sure anything useful happens inside.

yeh old people and people with mental problems....looks a bit down-market to me...it wont be missed... its been described as “inefficient, costly and a huge waste of valuable land”.

Correct. It was outdated 30 years ago. My grandfather was sent there to die after his stroke.

Mt Scopus Burwood campus is now zoned for 5-20 story buildings I believe.

Given that tertiary education is such an important export and given that Deakin is next door it's a no brainer.

Glad we have your support.

Imagine, 40 less busses on the road between 8-9am, and 4-5 pm.

Relocate the current hospital to East Stkilda campus and South Caulfield campus.

New facilities for the elderly, children and students. Your three favourite groups :D Oh wait hang on I forgot!

Very true.
The new Footscray hospital would have never been built under a Liberal government.
