Awesome news and not that surprised by Silvagni, he's improved again this year and shown himself to be a handy backup for starters. Expect him to play at least another dozen or so games next year even if he doesn't crack the best 22 and he still might. I suppose it'll be Smith's job to get past him with Faulks likely gone at the end of the year.

Well that is good news. I'm sure SCOS would have attracted interest from the Vics, so well done to him agreeing to stay on.

I wonder if Freo are gonna go KPP in the national draft when they have locked in three talls. I still hope they look at McCarthy with our first pick.
Will be looking at an experienced ready made forward to be alongside Pav as well as try and get one or two through the draft. That's the missing link in the set up at the moment. Midfielders and half flankers should be lesser priority this season (but we all know the drafting team likes to get those every year)

I'm happy for Silvagni. Would the one year for him be because that is all he wanted or all the club was prepared to offer?

Silvagni really solid for us down back. Not a forward but comftorable down there and gives us a physical presence.

Surprised Scos signed but happy - he could have filled a rival club KP spot and been the difference for a team lacking a tall defender as it is that won't happen.

There aren't too many players in limbo on the Freo list interested to see the few who move on - certain that will include Mellington

Great News. Silvagni is a good depth player and the extensions for Tabs and Tanner give them some time to develop and hopefully prove themselves in the long term. Now just to improve our KPP depth a little more and improve the quality of our non best 22 in the draft.

I think the re signing of Silvagni is less to do with seeing him as an important to our lineup than it is to do with pretty much no depth, and getting a contract by default.

You really have no clue do you? SNOS has improved markedly this year and come to grips with the RTB game plan, dropped weight and his fitness is at an all-time high. He'd slot right in if we needed him too for Dawson, Johnson or McPharlin. He wouldn't have been offered a contract otherwise.

This is great news for mine. Great teams have depth and they have young players that are coming through the system - these two signings are what successful clubs are able to pull off.

And I don't care how maligned SCOS is. He's sat in the wings completely aware that he's not 1st 22 for a couple of years now, but he steps up any time he's called and he gives 'great effort' no matter what, on and off the track - he's never sulked and called for a trade thinking himself greater than what he is. In more recent games down back he's been more than just 'empty effort' too, he's genuinely contributed to the team. I'm stoked for him and us.
