Noticed on the YVMDFL website they have announced all the clubs coach's, Silvan have been taken from the list l know they are appealing but would of thought if the YVMDFL still wanted them they would keep there name on the list!

Neither are Alexandra-the list shown under news only shows the clubs who have notified the league-if you click on the 2010 coaching link on the right-you will find they are still there

From the EFL Internet Site;

SILVAN MOVE REVOKED BY AFL VICTORIA BOARD

The Board of AFL Victoria has overturned the decision of its Executive committee and has revoked the transfer of Silvan to the Eastern Football League from the Yarra Valley Mountain District FL.

As a result, a new Division 4 fixture for 2010 is being completed. The new fixture should be ready for release in the next week.

The Division 4 2010 season will be the same as in 2009, with a 16 game season played over 18 rounds with each team having 8 home games, 8 away games and 2 byes. The final five will remain.

Silvan move revoked by AFL Victoria Board

The VCFL & YVMDFL Appeal against Silvan transferring to EFL was held on Monday 30th November.

“The appeal by the VCFL to the AFL Victoria Board is upheld and the transfer of the Silvan Football Club of the YVMDFL to the EFL granted by the AFL Victoria Executive on the 6th November is revoked.”

As a result of this decision information regarding Season 2010 will be provided in due course.

MH you should have a look back at all the posts over the last 12 months and have a look at all the people bagging SFC, long before i had enough of it and got on here and started to set some fools straight, some of my posts my have been over the top but im not on my own, people like Sportguru,Chickenlegs,Lemonchicken,Philthy,Nochance and even you've posted some doosy's like the "extract from the age" story, and even Localfootyguru who i would think is involved with the league wrote a week before the EFL decision that Silvan was turned down by AFL vic, that was a blatant lie, he knew there was no decision but he posted that lie anyway, you will also note no SFC people have got on here & started bagging other clubs for no reason, like has been done to Silvan, which is fine but expect replies, and i used to say Silvans success had a lot to do with the clubs hard work, but was told i was wrong, intresting to see you agree now,so you don't have to worry about Silvan or Compass anymore, just worry about Upwey's complete and utter dominance of the league from now on,im sure everyone's going to enjoy that

Have not said much on this matter but just want to put the record straight that I am not involved with the league directly in any form. I am a passionate follower of the league and played in the competition when I was younger (many years ago). The information I post is for all forum readers and hope it makes the thread what it is - a place where discussion and debate on all league matters is encouraged.

Time to move on to season 2010. Lets keep the debate going!

Thanks LFG.
The AFL Appeals Board has reached its inevitable decision and Silvan return for one more year. They will obviously move legitimately to the EFL in 2011.
On the surface this may seem anathema to logic. Why delay the inevitable? But the appeal process was not about Silvan; it was primarily about validating the sanctity of our League's rules. Silvan's error was that it didn't follow those rules and failed to give adequate notice. That has now been confirmed and corrected by the Appeal Board.
On with life! To those who have enjoyed gratuitous jibes at the Cats - get over it! Live and let live and use the Forum for more productive discussions. If you have a personal beef, take it up in person rather than in public.

I think you'll find that in most people's opinion, Silvan got what they deserved.
That will teach them that they are not above the rules and money can’t buy everything.
Word on the street is that they are going to ‘fold’ for the year – shows how petty they really are.

See you in season 2010 Silvan! :footy:

I have heard the Shire would love that as they could then allocate the ground to someone else. I am sure the shire would love to use the ground for soccer, and some one like Monbulk Juniors.

So I am sure it will not happen as if they did it would be very difficult to get up again in the following year - especially if no ground

The Belgrave FC needs a home next year........

Just heard from a pretty reliable source that silvan are looking like folding the
club. They now have no coach and not enough players to field two teams.
Its would be sad if it was true. Maybe the reversed decision wasn't a good move, looks like it could come and bite the yvmdfl and vcfl on the backside. Could be very interesting to see what happens. Nobody wants to see a club fold.

The are probably folding because they are SULKING. i've heard from a reliable source that they have money in the bank, so if they wanted to play football they could. they would just pay players like they used to. they didn't get their own way, were shown they are not above the rules and now they have chucking a tantrum.pathetic.
