as adelaide have only had 790 points kicked against them, pies have had 1070................300 more
this is because the pies play an attacking brand of footy, with plenty of opportunity for the opposition to hurt the pies on the rebound. the crows play a defensive minded game in which it is almost impossible for the opposition to get a one-out contest in the forward line, hence the crows are soo hard to score against & rutten no where to be seen in genuine spoiling attempts
Rutten is very very good, but id still back presti against most forwards one-out to beat them....looking forward to another 2 brownlow votes from presti when matched up against richo on sunday, hopefully another hanger too!!
have the best defense by 200 pointsICanDressMyself said:Um yeah.. defensive.
I believe we have the 3rd? best 'for' score in the league?
Don't say "Rutten is better at that then Presti because Collingwood can't defend properly"
Rutten > Presti. End. Of. Story.

adelaide are the most defensive team
rutten benefits from this, hence not having to ever spoil his opponent

not having a go at ruttenICanDressMyself said:Rutten - 12 goals scored against - 11 games.
Prestihesahomo - 20 goals scored against - 9 games.
Inexcuseable. Regardless of how well your team is at defending, if you were a top defender you wouldn't be letting that many goals go against you.
i dont think presti would be AAKUNG FU said:The maths doesn't hold up.
Goals against average per game:
Prestigiacomo 2.2 goals
Rutten 1.1 goals
Thats half as many goals against individually for Prestigiacomo.
Yet the Crows only have 11.5% less points against them. If the comparison held up, the Crows should have 50% less goals against.
Yes, the Crows are the best defensive team in the league, but we're also one of the best attacking teams. Rutten, our FB, is evidence of that by his ability to shut down FF and get about 15 possessions per game.
I can understand Cats fans arguing for Scarlett, but Presti is second tier for AA consideration.

but if u check out the spoiling stats it has the harris & presti up top, the two Key backs from the most attacking teams, as both often get hurt by turnovers and quick rebounds, hence can let in big scores
Rutten doesn't have to do as much because the crows 1st thinking is to stop the oppo from scoring
Rutten > Presti but not by much in a purely defensive role
Gets! said:Yeah half of Presti's spoils are when he is by himself and could just mark the ball, and decided to spoil it over the boundary line.
Obviously doesn't show much confidence in his marking or disposal ability.
