To appease the substantial Melbourne based supporting contingent of GeelongYou didn't answer my question, why sell home games to play at the mcg?
So one says for money the other ways to appease a few Geelong supporters, which one is it?To appease the substantial Melbourne based supporting contingent of Geelong
We'd probably do it for Richmond games too if they hadn't been positively mediocre for decades
I'm not an authority as I don't care to follow the inner workings of Geelong all that closely but I'm pretty sure the clubs makes a kings random from home games so 'selling' them for financial benefit isn't a high prioritySo one says for money the other ways to appease a few Geelong supporters, which one is it?
Why did Richmond sell home games? That the MCG isn't as big of an advantage as Geelong supporters like to make out, if it's not your home ground don't sell home games there.
Its not hard to understand.... if you draw an interstate club with an expected low attendance from said club, you can play on your happy meal sized ground, due to not stopping any spectators from attending/enjoying the sport.
You play any other club at home and you're at the MCG.
it's been this way forever, it should stay this way, stop sooking, it changes nothing.
Hardly mutual.Relax boys, the games being played at a mutual venue that both teams play home games at.
It is a mutual ground, otherwise Geelong wouldn't sell home games there.Hardly mutual.
And it's become obvious that you're trolling or a normal Richmond supporter who fails to see logic.
To make a profit above KP at the MCG we have to have 70k+ attend, which is why we request to play Hawthorn and Collingwood there.I'm not an authority as I don't care to follow the inner workings of Geelong all that closely but I'm pretty sure the clubs makes a kings random from home games so 'selling' them for financial benefit isn't a high priority
I could be wrong though
No. Geelong were rewarded with a home state final. The opposition is irrelevant, they coincidentally happened to be a Victorian team.Geelong finished higher than Richmond at the end of the H/A season, yet Richmond will be rewarded with a home game.
It is simple: Every player would rather play in front of 90,000 than 30,000.It's simple: Geelong finished higher than Richmond at the end of the H/A season, yet Richmond will be rewarded with a home game. That is ridiculous. But whatever.
Good to see you're becoming aquatinted with the lonely art of discussing other teams finals. Get used to it.
We don't voluntarily 'sell' home games there as our CEO has stated we earn more money at Simonds no matter the attendance at the MCG.It is a mutual ground, otherwise Geelong wouldn't sell home games there.
Trolling? Geelong pier great fishing spot.
We had a stadium that was still in development last year. But even then, the inequity was pointed out. But hey, enjoy the final on your home ground that the AFL have gifted you.Didn't seem to worry them playing Hawthorn last year at the MCG despite finishing higher than them.
What the hell has changed this year? Why all the melts? None seen last year....
Still fit 26000 IIRC last year. That means 13K each vs 18K each. Not that much difference. We had a stadium that still in development last year. But even then, the inequity was pointed out. But hey, enjoy the final on your home ground that the AFL have gifted you.
So I guess the next step is that Geelong will want the GF played at KP if the make it against of a lower ranked team.
Ridiculous.
