Coach Simpson’s final years - What went wrong

Or...we could just let people talk about what they want to and if you don't want to read it then don't click on the thread?

This

If people want to trudge over old ground they can but I transferred the initial chat from the 2025 coach thread so that people could avoid it if they want by simply not clicking on the thread

I doubt if that's true. It wouldn't say much for a head coach if he let an assistant overrule him.

Oh, I figured we were just reinventing history as unfavorably for Simpson as possible, I didn’t realise logic had to come into it.

Speaking of logic, I did a search for posts by nima's changed username that mention sumich and could only find the following. His post doesn't actually mention Sumich but it was captured by the search because he quoted someone who did.

let me be clear. i said simmo is on a thin ice.as he should. nobody is irreplaceable. specially looking through the holes with this team that has not been rectified. So i am not saying lets just get rid off him(knee jerk), i have stated the areas ( as i see it as an outsider, my point of view) where his coaching is clearly lacking and if not rectified he has an obligation to provide an explanation. that is all I am saying.believe me I get it, coaching is not an easy job, it is never easy to be a successful coach in AFL.

It is however quiet important how you respond towards failures by actions you take and your actions dictate whether you deserve more time or not. at this point of time, simmo's actions on handling the obstacles he is facing is reaching no return point and if he is not careful, he will be and should be put on notice.

I have to say that this person doesn't have very good grammar usage, doesn't capitalise the first letter in sentences, has horrible spelling (for instance 'specially' in stead of 'especially', 'quiet' instead of 'quite') and fails to use commas and apostrophes where they are sorely needed. They use the English language entirely differently to me. I'm frankly offended you have assumed we are the same person.

Guess he wasn’t as deeply ingrained in my psyche as you thought.

I think we can take this Nima issue to the Mandela Effect threads elsewhere on this comprehensive forum.

Not sure Dill Schofield is the best judge of anything to do with footy tbh. He had 1 absolutely stellar day out, that I love the guy for, in an otherwise unmemorable career. 2 coaches never saw more than a bits and pieces player in him and now somehow he is a guru? Spare me.

I think Suma has performed at every point he has had a coaching opportunity. Never managed to get the top gig but that doesn't mean he isn't good enough. The people making these decisions at football clubs are extremely fallible - just look at the decades of failure most of them accumulate.
