Frankenstein’s old jumper?
How embarrassing and unprofessional for all concerned.

It was Chesser's fault by his own admission. There was other sized jumpers available but he grabbed the first one and by the time they realised it was too late to get another one

Yes, but how did one that big even exist? Chesser is not small. Even Mick Nolan wouldn’t have fitted that one. About 10xl.

Someone accidentally added Scott Cummings' size to the WCE jumper list rather than the OWLS jumper list

Zane Trew has COVID, but looks like his hip injury isn't too bad.

West Coast youngser Zane Trew is the latest Eagle to be thrown into health and safety protocols in another setback for the second-year midfielder.

The 20-year-old played WAFL last week but will be unavailable for Saturday’s clash with West Perth at Mineral Resources Park.

Trew made his AFL debut against Richmond in round 16 after almost two years on the list.

But he was axed after a mediocre seven-disposal effort in the next round’s loss Carlton, relegated to an emergency in favour of debutant Jai Culley for the clash with Hawthorn.

He played for the Eagles WAFL side on Saturday against East Fremantle at Mineral Resources Park. But after coming off early in the second term, Trew did not return to the field due to hip soreness.

It is understood that call was precautionary and Trew’s hip was not expected to further hinder him.

It comes after the former rookie pick-up waited nearly 24 months for an AFL debut, hampered by stress-related back concerns, shin splints and soft tissue injuries in the infancy of his career.

I resolved not to have a crack at them today. Then they sent out a tweet gloating about how short the list is. Of course it’s short if you’re just going to leave players off.

Helps when you leave Luke Edwards off too.

West Coast star Elliot Yeo’s return has been delayed after coach Adam Simpson revealed he’s sustained another calf injury.

Yeo was set to be one of three big inclusions for the Eagles for their clash against Gold Coast on Sunday, alongside ruckman Nic Naitanui and forward Willie Rioli.

The dual John Worsfold medallist has not played since their round 16 loss to Richmond because of a hamstring injury, but he’s not set to be sidelined for a further two weeks with another setback.

“He’s had as small setback, a calf. Which is really disappointing,” Simpson said.

“He has had no continuity all year. The bottom half of his body has let him down. He’s done everything right, so it’s frustrating for everyone. He’s such an important player.”

It continues a horror run of injuries for Yeo, who has battled osteitis pubis as well as soft tissue injuries in the past few seasons, having played just 27 games since the start of 2020.

Simpson said Naitanui would have to get through training on Thursday to be available as he comes back from a second knee injury, while forward Willie Rioli is set to play after being away from the club following the death of his father.

Veteran forward Josh Kennedy won’t play against the Suns after Simpson ruled the spearhead out of the trip.

Kennedy is set to call time on his career next week, farewelling fans in the Eagles’ home game of the season against Adelaide next weekend.

Put him in cotton wool for the year. Needs to get his body right in the offseason. Asking too much of our S&C team though?

Going to be a very interesting Woosha Medal count at the end of the year, given the absolutely shambolic injury toll to our top 20 players on the list this season.

21 games combined from these 7: Sheed (1), Sheppard (0), Yeo (5), Naitanui (5), Allen (0), McGovern (10), Cole (0)

Games lost this year (last 3 years in brackets) of best 22 players :

18* - Allen (22)
18* - Cole (21)
17* - Sheed (18)
13* - Yeo (31)
13 - Naitanui (14)
8 - Rioli (48 - 40 due to suspension)
8* - McGovern (21)
5 - Shuey (25)
5 - Ryan (13)
5 - Cripps (9)
5 - Gaff (6)
4 - Kelly (11)
4 - Kennedy (9)
3 - Hurn (11)
3 - Barrass (9)
2 - Duggan (11)
1 - Redden (10)
1 - Darling (1)

* Have been ruled out for the season (or soon will be in Yeo’s case)

Doesn’t count games missed by Langdon, SPS, LEdwards, Chesser, Petruccelle, Trew, Foley, Joyce etc who have all had injuries for some or all of the season but aren’t best 22 and haven’t always been selected when available

B&F will be one of Barrass, Hurn or Redded

The way our medical team operate, if I had to see them for a minor abrasion, I'd be writing my last will and testament, just in case

"Man suffers abrasion, and then dies. Eagles medical team calling this a minor setback and they are taking a cautious approach......"
Shallow grave in case of a spark of life?
