face it you're a sissy
MEDIA RELEASESo basing that on the average beer being between 4% and 5% alcohol and the average wine being about 14%, this would equate to around 200L of beer or 65L of wine every year per person.
Interesting.
Time for it to be banned. If you want to harm yourself do it away from where normal people are trying to live. Walking out of the ground friday night i couldn't breathe clean air for about 15 minutes, it was absolutely putrid. Smoking should be banned outside of grounds and at train stations.
Where are they going to smoke? Who cares but normal people should be allowed to breathe clean air. Ban it in public places altogether.

Apparent alcohol consumption hits a 50 year low
Australians are drinking less alcohol overall than any time in the previous 50 years, according to figures released today by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS).
"Across all alcoholic beverages, there were 9.7 litres of pure alcohol available for consumption in 2013-14 for every person in Australia aged 15 years and over," said Louise Gates from the ABS. "This is the lowest level since the early 1960’s."
Further information is available in Apparent Consumption of Alcohol, Australia, 2013-14 (cat. no. 4307.0.55.001) on the ABS website -http://www.abs.gov.au
that's not very "meh" of you ...Whilst I hate it, I'm happy to just keeping hiking the tax on cigarettes until the smokers either can't afford it or die off....
that's not very "meh" of you ...
BTW the false equivalency being spouted in this thread is pretty funny. Drinking a Coke or eating a Big Mac doesn't directly affect other people.
Legit comment, but if someone with regular intake of fast food drops their guts, it's more offensive to the senses than a smoker IMO. And this is coming from someone in a family of smokers who's the only non smoker.
How these people can sit down without pain is beyond me....

If 200 people congregated outside of the gates cutting rancid farts together then I'd be calling for them to be moved from the area as well.
nothing wrong with fans embracing the purple hazeYears ago although I couldn't see where they were I actually smelt someone smoking a joint inside Subiaco Oval lol. Supporting the Dockers turning people to drugs..
maybe it's a statistical anomaly due to the fact australia has a population consisting of more older people than younger people.MEDIA RELEASE

Who would have thought that anything from a .gov.au site would be ambiguous?
What the hell does available for consumption mean? That it was just sitting around in bottles, but we didn't necessarily drink it?
I suppose I could click that linky thing but that sounds like more ambiguous reading
I thought "meh" would be whatever, smoke there, don't smoke there, smoke everywhere who caresIsn't it? I thought it was totally 'meh', as in 'meh, this will sort itself out soon enough.....'
Yeah I noticed the age too. Maybe just being realisticDespite the ambiguity, the strong downward trend is both valid and interesting. Plenty of countries drink way more than us.
I was also fascinated that the per capita measurement is achieved by dividing by the number of residents over 15. 15? Are they serious?
I love a cheeky spliff at half-time at the MCG, and that is why I am opposed to banning smoking outside the MCG.Years ago although I couldn't see where they were I actually smelt someone smoking a joint inside Subiaco Oval lol. Supporting the Dockers turning people to drugs..
Doesn't anyone notice the smell haha.I love a cheeky spliff at half-time at the MCG, and that is why I am opposed to banning smoking outside the MCG.
Then I'd have to use a vape, and it's just not the same.
Not when you're surrounded by 500 odd people who've spent the last hour spilling booze on themselves, all chugging down ciggies at the same time.Doesn't anyone notice the smell haha.
Well we dont really have a choice with the air in the city. It is what it is. Secondary smoke on the other hand........people complaining about breathing in smoke realise they breathe in filthy city air every second of their lives, right? you are just like women, complaining about whatever you see others complaining about
