Pretty devastated right now. Had we won it would have been a great result for me personally given the hard year I've had. But alas, life goes on and the sun will rise tomorrow. In the end it's just a game we play on this crazy spinning rock we call earth.

I feel we played into the hands of West Coast too much. We do our best when we run, carry and take calculated risks. I'm not sure where that disappeared too? Despite a few dubious decisions you have to give credit to the eagles. The out muscled us in the midfield. That is where we lost it. And then they capitalised on their marking power by forcing us to kick it long. I feel we should have taken a risk and try to have run it out of the defense instead.

It's been a great year for collingwood and we almost got the flag. We can build from this. It's been a ride this year that's for sure.

FKIN LOL???

REALLY???

Have a little faith, this list has HUGE improvement in it, sadly you apparently can't see that.

Yeah really. We can improve but as I said, 29 points up in the first 1/4, you don't get many better chances then that.

It'll be hard to back up and I don't think we will. There's 17 other teams who can improve from this year don't forget.

Turning out to be one of the worst days ever for me. Just got news my pop is in critical condition so have to drive up to albury to go see him. This is just so unfair :(

I hope things are okay mate. Drive safe, all the best to your pop.

Agreed
We do a great job of making them but an utterly shit job of winning them
Honourable losses mean nothing

We have won 2 premierships in 60 years from 14 grand finals, in those 2 premierships we had to survive a draw during the finals to achieve this. 1990 QF final v WC, 2010 GF v StKilda.
We never EVER achieve success without being put through the wringer. It’s fkd

Yeah sorry mate, gutted but proud of our season.
Can‘t single out individual player though. Simpson coached well and had our guns well covered.
Catch you next season.
Got to disagree. I think you can single out individual players who let us down. Players able to step up a level in GFs are remembered for life, but our key midfielders and ruck did not immortalise their names or reputations today. I also thought our second tier and youngest players were exposed - Thomas, WHE, Mihochek, Goldsack and after quarter time, Stephenson, though he alone of that group has room for improvement.

The slow ball movement in the last quarter gave us little chance of kicking a winning score. Not selecting Reid or Moore left us deficient for height down back. Forcing Langdon to play on Vardy in the last quarter made him a less effective player, and Darling carved us up, particularly on our kick outs in the 3rd quarter. Kennedy was as expected was far too good for Goldsack.

It was our defence and some individual players not part of the engine room that kept us in the game. Losing a GF is seriously disappointing, particularly when the players expected to be the driving force behind a win contributed very little.

Umps were fine, got a few wrong but certainly didn't favour either side.

Yeah. Sure.

Every time it looked like we might get momentum, the blew their whistle.

Just like last week, we got finals standard umpiring, they got H&A. Which happened last week.

Was on the end of it in 2015, so I know how much it hurts. You guys have every reason to be upbeat for the next few years. Good luck and thanks for an awesome game of footy, and there was no real spite in the game. Just two great sides doing their best.

Sorry to hear that Stoods. Take it easy on the road mate and I hope everything turns out okay for your pop.

Bad luck guys. No Shaun Ryan and you blokes win. For me the biggest story should come from Gill's face after Jetta missed that early goal.

Walk tall Pies you were magnificent.

You missed out on a cup, 2 weeks of bragging rights and the risk of alcohol poisoning over the next week.

Roll on 2019, we will all be hunting you this time.

And the running joke about Adam Treloar picking Collingwood over Richmond can be finally laid to rest, he was picking between 2 gun teams on the rise.
