adelaide and essendon go out in week 2. adelaide get 5th last pick, essendon get 6th last pick.
and so on

Port will have pick 15, Sydney pick 16.

When Sydney beat Port in week 1, Sydney was re-ranked above Port.

The reason Essendon loose Soloman is because of salary cap pressure. There is no way that either Brown or Stevens would be able to fit in.
not true, our cap is fine. We have been saving our pennies for a Stevens or a Brown. Hird and Mercs in the vets list helps too.

They will need 2 of him to snare either Brown or Stevens IMO.

port would kill for someone like dean soloman, i think you're underestimating his value and overestimating brown and stevens

In a straight trade for Damien Hardwick, sure. Other than that he's entirely superfluous when our actual needs are genuine midfielders and tall backs with some youth to them. One more nuggety back pocket will add nothing to Port's premiership chances next year.

Solomon is no back pocket. He played on ball, wing half forward this year. Only ostietis pubis kept him from playing more on ball. He is quick and bloody strong. 188cms and 96kgs he dwarfs most wingman and most on ballers. But he wont be going anywhere if he has got any sense so why am i talking him up?:(

No idea. Incidentally, Dimma is a ruck rover now....only being slow and old stopped him from playing on-ball all year ;)

A Solomon for Jeff White straight swap would be benefitial for both clubs.
i disagree. IO doubt that essendon would consider trading the 23 yr old Solomon (who is a fav of Sheedy's) for the older injury prone White. And we are going for a CHEAP old injury prone ruckman (Allan) anyhow.

Solomon is a good player, but you dont trade a matchwinner (White) for a battler (Solomon)

Soloman is not a battler. Its just what we need a hard at it who is pre-paired to puthis body on the line. We have too good young ruckman that might be as good or better than white.

What are whites knees like?

Not as bad as theyre made out to be.

It's not the knees I'd be worried about it's his softness and total lack of physicality at contests. If you can ignore that he's clearly the best value ruckman available. Should be able to cut it with the best for at least 3-4 more years.

i respect your opinion but soloman is much more than a 'nuggety back pocket'. he's only 23, not injury prone and can (and has) be used anywhere from back pocket to a wing and a pinch hitting forward. anyway not saying port need him cos obviously their needs lie elsewhere as you said, just making a point that nick stevens is not worth two of a dean soloman

I think melb would not want to lose him if he can get back to full fitness. we would love to have him as hille needs help and is still 3 or 4 years away from peaking. But we need solomon and its got me stuffed why essendon are shopping him around

I think he's overrated especially by Essendon fans but he's as close to what we need as we can get.

I dont think bomber fans think he is a superstar. But he is very brave tough and strong and those players are worth their weight in gold and you can build premierships around them.

solly is our teams enforcer at the moment, and if we lose him... i hate to think what lil bitches we will be, example being pavlich and bolton, solly got stuck into pav and flipping dominated him...

hes not overrated... if anything underrated for a guy coming off missing a whole season, dont wanna lose him ;\

Solomon is not being shopped by the club. He is only being shopped by ppl on here and some parts of the media. The facts are that Richmond have made him a lucrative offer. Solly may decide to part ways with the club and accept that offer but make no mistake, Sheeds does not want to let go of Solly. If he decides to take the fat juicy offer from the tiges Sheeds will have to do what he can to get something in return. Dean is still a much required player at Essendon and that is why Sheeds has said that he is angry that Richmond are trying to 'poach' him.

Solomons what? 25ish, 188cm 90kg's? Or about that?

Not what i'd call old, nuggety or a back pocket. Tallish third defender and you say yourself thats what you need.

Would have thought he'd be a good pick up (most sides) myself. Prefer him to Jacobs at any rate.
