As opposed to going straight to the theme

I’d have more sympathy if someone who rarely wins/hosts won for the first time in months /years and went with a long awaited theme but this didn’t seem to be that

Thanks. It really is. I've got a dozen artists I'm following on Spotify but I've been lazy listening to stuff I already know. I want this opportunity to explore some of the newer music released that I haven't explored.

I was shocked at winning. I hadn't anticipated it so I was still thinking about what I'd do. TBH I had previously explored doing a ME round but thought that would be too vain.

I’m openly one of those, but I also have a tradition of wrapping my final presents to the Christmas Song Contest playlist (it was fun when The Filth Wizard made us listen to the Pretenders twice for instance), so it feels completely hollow to remove that ‘just because’ .

I’m happy to FaceTime you and beatbox Christmas tunes whilst you wrap presents if that helps.
