Come on, you’ve got to think some 20 years later the hate was a bit disproportionate.

They were hated because people didn’t think they fit of the mould of what ‘proper rock’ should be, and it was apparently cool to hate a band which in fact was inspiring many people.

No different to what Coldplay, U2, Inxs all became. All uninspiring.
