There was also Lift Off with the weird doll with no face.
Ec. Terrifying. Australia had some pretty ****ed up kids shows in the 90s, so maybe some oldies can cut us milennials a bit of slack.

Yeah. They run Rhymesayers if you're familiar with them. They've put out some fantastic records (Aesop Rock for example).
They're selling some sweet MF DOOM anniversary stuff at the moment.

They put this out towards the end of '23 and I reckon it's pretty damned good.

Yeqh. Was askimg Clarkie cos he runs the celeb death game

Personal opinion.

They remain a 'good' band in their prime. 80s to early 90s but their longevity is poor in contrast to other artists. Their current appeal imo is lacklustre stacked up against the other bands of those periods but fail to compete with the likes of Pixies, Black Keys, and other similar bands.

Anything post 1999 is derivative. Again. My personal opinoon.

Long syory short. They were great back in the day but looking back have faded like a wilting flower

Well if their pre 2000 stuff is ok that’s 20 years of good work - doesn’t gel with saying you wished they never existed

Just saying that revisiting them doesnt hit even close to the feels of

Billy Idol
Bob Seger
New Order
The Cult
The Church
Icehouse
Kids in the Kitchen
Bob Sega
R.E.M
OMD
Spandau Ballet

I feel like they were great at the time but to me I honestly cant bring myself to listen to anything of theirs with the exception of

Sunday Bloody Sunday, Miss Sarajevo

You are a tough judge if you don't rate U2 as one of the greatest rock bands of all time.

Not many rock bands have had so many great albums over 20 years.

Boy, October, War, Unforgettable Fire, Joshua Tree, Rattle and Hum, Achtung Baby, Zooropa, Pop. All That You Can't Leave Behind.

They peaked with Achtung Baby, that is in my Top 10 albums of all time, a game changing album.

My Mum loves U2 and she and my Dad have seen them live. I grew up listening to their biggest hits and Mum liked random ones like "Lemon". Definitely appreciate their 90s/00s stuff and they have some incredible songs that still make me tear up ("Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own").

That song the fly is the best song I've ever heard

I don't think Bono is as sanctimonious or pretentious as he gets made out to be, he still has a down to earth sense of humour.

I saw him hanging out with Mick Jagger where they joked about starting a lead singer magazine like all the guitar magazines.

Sounds like it's strongly INXS influenced to me. And really? Greatest song?

I like a handful of songs from most huge bands and artists. The only huge artist I ever had more than 2 or 3 albums from is Neil Young where I've had tons. And there were a few disappointments there of course. Quite a few.
But Springsteen...2 or 3 over the years
Dylan ...3 or 4. U2- 1 album Joshua Tree which I adored. Stones - like so many songs but never bought an album. Bowie - 2 or 3. INXS- none. Again liked a few songs of course.

Never liked Icehouse -can't say why exactly. and would never put them in a world class category. Out of step with a few here obviously.

Icehouse were better before Man of Colours.

Hey Little Girl is one of my all time fave songs.
