Another horribly sad day with cancer taking one of the most underrated and under appreciated guitarists of his generation. Weirdly I was listening to the first Blue Murder album just yesterday as I was driving from Sunny Coast to Brisbane.

I confess this isn't music I'm very familiar with, however I note he was born the same year as my own Dad. That's terribly young and I'm sorry to hear

Stella Le Page just put out a couple EPs.

Pretty sure she nearly won when I nommed her last.

A bit different to what I nommed as no vocals and mainly cello focussed, but it's damned good. I'm hoping for another album in the 'Sluggin' It Up' realm but her cello releases are always golden. A real warmth to the way she plays.

Such a shame Jefferson Airplane split. There's some cool moments scattered through Starship's run but none of it really had the heart they used to. There wasn't long between the last Airplane and first Starship either. The songwriting feels less impactful, the production feels overdone, the mix is too clean. Probably a product of the time.

From what I've heard of the other half of the Airplane split, they have everything that Starship was missing but were lacking in their own areas also. Neither band could hit JA levels of magic. Maybe one of the old heads can answer but did Hot Tuna ever have any hits?
