Been waiting for Green Day to come out here for years. Can't bloody wait.

I know there's a lot of GD haters out there (always gonna happen when a band is that successful), but they are seriously one of the world's best live acts. You won't be disappointed!

And they've been playing Dookie all the way through recently, so hoping for something similar here.

I implore everyone to check out letlive if you haven't heard them before, one of the best live bands I've ever seen. They're the band I'm most looking forward to.
I'll see Green Day if their setlist is mostly 90's stuff and there's no other bands I want to see at the same time. Like bloodpumps said, they're pretty good live, plus there's a bit of a nostalgia factor.

Pretty good line up. Cant wait to see Letlive and Skindred on the same bill. Just about the two best live bands going.

say what you want about them cause they have their critics but biffy clyro (and yeah only revolutions was very average; haven't heard opposites) are right now headlining reading and leeds festival. you'd think that would have them higher on the bill than the fifth or sixth line at any australian festival. not really a huge thing, just a little curiosity on that poster.

Not a huge green day fan myself (love mid 90's stuff) but everyone i know who has seen them live reckons they are phenomenal and put on a top class show.

****in letlive. !!!! I've seen them twice already, would have been more if I wasn't underage last time they played soundwave, due to Melbourne 18+ sidewaves.

Also stoked for Green Day, Avenged Sevenfold, Rob Zombie, Clutch, August Burns Red, GWAR, Motionless In White, Skindred, DevilDriver, Five Finger Death Punch and The Story So Far.. Still a few unknowns for me to check out.

Seen the bands in italics above live already. All of them were quality. Very excited for Clutch, missed them at Soundwave 2010.

Very excited about this line-up. It won't attract the same number of fans as last year's, but the quality is just as good. Green Day are fantastic live, but it's going to be hard to pass up the opportunity to check out Megadeath. They, Trivium and Down is a fantastic day of metal. Really hope AIC don't clash with any of those, even if it's not Layne.

Already seen Megadeth live twice and their new stuff is pretty bland imo so if they are on at the same time as green day I will probably be going to Green Day. Excited for Down and Trivium, first time I saw Trivium was wicked fun, such a good mosh. Second time was good but hoping they play more Shogun / Ascendancy stuff although unlikely with a new album coming out. Was hoping they'd come on their own tour...

Just remembered AJ said Slash wouldn't be on the lineup because Myles Kennedy, his touring frontman, would be touring with Alter Bridge when Soundwave is on.

Alter Bridge are on the lineup.

What a cheeky bloke!

Hopefully Slash and The Conspirators come out for it too.

There's no way Kennedy would risk his voice by pulling double duty, not when he warms up for an hour before every show. As for Megadeth, it would be as much about getting away from the huge Green Day crowd, although it will be very hard to pass them up on the day. Just based off this announcement, there are already heaps of clashes.

Lineup looks excellent and there is still going 20+ more bands announced in the 2nd announcement!!
