You have no hope you wont be playing in a 2 team comp next year....

Well said, hampton will get absolutely smashed. Div 3 is has lost alot of quality since canterbury moved to eastern, Sth Yarra and skye went to Div 2 and Doveton got booted.

I totally agree if Mount could not win the flag this year they have no hope as over the previous seasons Mount played against some quality sides Eg.Cantebury,Skye,Sth Yarra,Doveton Eagles the competion was on a high.

Didn't know he played for GE as well.

Us, Parkmore, Dandenong, Belgrave, Lyndale to name a few.

Add black rock to that list. He only played 1-2 games at Belgrave before going back to Parkmore so dunno if you'd count them. I remember playing on him when he played for Dandy years ago, Sean Payne kicked 7 and they absolutely smashed us. Why is he a 2s player now? Doesn't train maybe?

All great clubs ha ha NOT;)

Nothing wrong with Belgrave. My brother came up through the wonderful juniors program they have there, played his first senior game in a preliminary final because the selection committee didn't want to go with an older bloke that was only 50% right. All his mates he came up through juniors with are still playing there, the way it should be.

I'd say he'd be pushing 35-36 yrs old, maybe time is catching up to him. I remember him being a light framed speedster, with a bit of a temper (nothing wrong with that).

A well travelled footballer, who gots paid some good $$$$$ throughout his days

A player you can build your team around:D

How are clubs traveling for next season ? are the coaches staying or going ? new recruits ? players departing ? Interested to hear how clubs are going early into the season

Is that confirmed and if so have the SFL hierarchy attached any special conditions? And is there anymore news on the suggestion that Endeavour Hills were going to field a senior team in Div 3 next season?. The fact that they are so close geographically to Doveton would now make it difficult with the Eagles back in the comp.

Were told that the SFL "spent 100 hours in kicking them out, but they will spend 200 hours in helping them get back in." That was straight from the horse's mouth.

I heard a month back from their coach, that Endeavour Hills got 70 people to their information night. I expect them to not only come into Div 3, but to do extremely well. The coach is probably the most tactically sound coaches for his age, with a lot of contacts. I'd expect he draw on players from St Johns OC, Doveton (MPNFL) & Eagles, some of which will have had TAC Cup experience.

All these guys that Endeavour Hills were expecting from St John might not be coming now as they only lost there grand final by a point and wanna win a flag there first. On other news i have it from a good Source at the SFL that Mount Waverly rang up last week saying the dont want Doveton Eagles back in the comp next season. They that scared of them:rolleyes:

Actually SFL rang us (and I'm sure other Div 3 Clubs) and asked us on our thoughts on Doveton FC coming back in... we said we don't mind as long as they've cleaned up their act and culture etc... We prefer to have as many clubs in our league as we can get... (preferably clubs that aren't so far away though)...

Give us a break pretty boy, how about you have a good look at your own culture before you start throwing stones.

That would include your uneducated supporters that yell abuse, your coaching group that insult opposition supporters at after match speeches and let's not forget your squeaky clean players that are always the victims.

Doveton are no saints and they do need to change which we all agree but people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones !!

Simple Simon,

Let's get a few things straight here:

1. We haven't had any formal or informal complaints made against any of our players, coaches or club in general (I'm referring to official complaints - not reports made by umpires during matches etc)

2. The greatest intangible asset our footy club has is it's culture.
Hence why our club has grown by 80% in player numbers in the last 5 years (2005 - 2010).
This is due to players coming down to our club and being impressed with the quality people associated with our club.

3. The SFL do not like losing clubs, either to other leagues or folding.
They would never have kicked Doveton out of the comp if it was "just Mount Waverley" complaining about Doveton.
The fact that the SFL are desperate for the numbers of clubs to grow significantly in the league, the amount of official complaints and reports from MANY clubs must've been insurmountable.

"That would include your uneducated supporters that yell abuse,"

So if you are to assume that our supporters are uneducated from one 'supposed' incident that you claim that they yelled abuse, then it is safe for me to assume you are a dole bludger who lives in a commission house due to the fact that there are many commission houses in Doveton and are generally occupied by unemployed people living off government support.

"your coaching group that insult opposition supporters at after match speeches"

I believe it was your Senior Coach that was suspended and eventually banned from Coaching for abusing players, umpires, opposition supporters and not respecting the SFL.

"and let's not forget your squeaky clean players that are always the victims."

The SFL worked out that out of all tribunal hearings in the 2010 Home & Away Season, Including ALL Senior Divisions (1, 2 & 3), that 58% were all from Doveton Eagles Football Club.

Bottom line is I want Doveton to return to the league.. I enjoy competition and I hope you guys return to the league and are a better club for it.

But by having a look at your previous posts and other posts from Doveton associated members, it seems like most of you are looking to put a fair bit blame on Mount Waverley when really it is 100% your own fault.

Ive been to a few mount waverly games and there no angles, they have supporters on that little social room hill yelling abuse at supporters and players during the game. I was also in there social room why speeches were on once and some drunk mount waverly player or supporter tried starting a fight with a few players from another club why speehes are on. They dont even hang around for drinks at Doveton after the game either like all other clubs do. I have a drink anywhere and have seena few SFL games in the years gone by.

You say we aren't angels, perhaps you'd like to list some specific incidents? Twice we played Dovteon this year and the first time we had a bloke get stretchered off and need stitches afterwards from a deliberate raised elbow, and the other we had a bloke get punched in the face 6 times, being a salesman he couldnt work all week with 2 black eyes and blood in one of them, I believe your bloke got 6 weeks from this incident.

So if we're so bad, perhaps you'd like to list some specific bad things we've done on the field?

In regards to our supporters, they always setup near our scoreboard, or inside the rooms. Been playing there 6 years now and never once have our supporters ever setup on the hill outside the away rooms, that is always where the away supporters setup, as it's where their rooms are and where their bench is, so if you say you hear abuse from there, perhaps your own supporters are abusing you?

I admit I don't always hang around for a beer, but I remember specifically this year at Doveton I did. I went inside to buy a beer and a pie, was told to go outside for the pie, so I did, went to go back inside and there was no one in there. So back outside, about 10 of my team mates sitting on the steps and about 20 or so Doveton boys yelling and hollering at each other near the canteen. So I sat on the steps, enjoyed my pie and beer with mates, waited about another 10 minutes, nothing was happening, still no one inside, so I left.

Yeah that player who punched that guy on the field apparently six times had no chance i hear, your young club umpire reported him and went off the ground in the first 10 minutes of the game and couldnt even finish the ressies game and both umpire and player had the same exact story at the tribunal (wonder if they spoke first and got there stories the same before hand) and that guy stretched off with stitches was hit fair the umpire seen it and said fair bump play on, so if it was a raised elbow why wasnt he reported and rubbed out? I wasnt talking about the hill outside the away rooms im talking the little hill out side the home teams rooms. Dont worry about bagging Doveton Eagles try winning a grand final first before picking on anyone, even your own clubs coach quit straight after the loss shows how good your club is..:thumbsu:
