Yeah Foe, you are right l was thinking way too far ahead, because if you can predict so far ahead l am out of my league that was 7,8,9,10,11, how many do you see the Big Birds winning from that prediction of yours or Losing

Maybe 1 at best 2 i think you can beat Skye @ home and Mt away.Beware the Sand cobras this week.

Lets not forget that you've also bottomed out once before because "money" left the club and that will happen again when he leaves at the end of the season.

Look at Parkmore, last year was bad for them, bad for Div 3 and now bad for Div 2, winning a flag should be a great thing, but is only when you build to it, not buy it.
Yes you had a good side last year, but by doing what you've done this year doesn't look good and will only lead to St. Kilda city bottoming out again.

I am glad you brought that up about bottoming out, the facts are 9 players retired, 8 players went to Yarraville as 6 of them were living in
the west, 4 players left over money , 2 players went overseas and 1 went to the VFL, about 5 regular seniors stayed, on top of that 1 player took $1000 sign on and went to Balwyn, shocking form. The easy thing for outsiders to say was the money ran out, but the truth is the spirit ran out
with alot of disloyalty and a lot of the player movement shellshocked the club & committee,On the positive side the under 18 comp folded that year so we played the kids & rebuilt , took our medicine and won the divvy 2 flag and got back in to Divvy 1 straight away and did ok last year, We are now in the hunt for finals again in Divvy 1, I doubt whether we will bottom out to the extreme of last time, as we have our next batch of kids about a year away, sponsorship is rising( not including Fintrack). I think its about getting reward when your clubs peaking and 2 divvy1 gf\1 flag was a decent return when we had the side to do it. Keep knocking us we love it !

Loydy07 & Im The Gun what happened lads?
Mordi after the siren, you boys are a bit stiff from what I've been told. A 50m penalty was paid which was not there and they goaled, then Lemon kicked one after the bell?

This is the only site I have ever seen where the last page number LESSENS as the days go by.
Spongey appears to be the only one allowed to have a point of view.
Quality, just quality!

(I don't think one should hold their breath for my next post. The girl with the big German name is shaking his handbag my way)

(I wonder how long this post will last.....bring on page 171!!!)

Thanks for that reply, who are you guys playing this week.
Not associated with any Club i'm an observer of the comp and a mediator of the Div i tell it as i see it.Doves have had a dream draw in there first 4 the 2 hardest would have to be Rockers and Mount.Biggest Disapointment Skye, surprise packet Doveton,Over rated Dandy,Most ability Mt.

Interesting week of results. Very surprised to see the Heights topple the Clays on their own dungheap and for Mordi to beat Highett is very odd.

In other games Im staggered that St Pauls beat Heatherton by 30 goals. Must'nt have shown the same determination and spirit they did the week before. That or St Pauls are really, really good.

I thought the Vampires might give the Saints a run for their money. They have had a few injuries the past few weeks and as a result have been beaten handsomely but they arent a bad side.

Finally Chelts goalkicking in the end was comical on the weekend. 3.21 after half time!! I think the ball only went into T-M's 50 about 12 or 13 times for the day. Talk about one way traffic. Worner kicked about 1.7 and was double teamed all day. Going on the weekend T-M will finish bottom.

Intersting ovservations. Which game did you watch this week? Why is Skye the biggest disappointment? I think they'll be right up there in at the end of the year, just havent got going yet. Havent seen much of Mount, word on the forum is that they're soft, yet you say theyre hard, why do you think they are the harder than the rest? And who are their more important players?

Read the post Hammie i said Rockers and Mount had the hardest Draw in the first 4,Skye got a choclate factory worth of players were othersides get boiled lollies C grade ammo's players should be tearing it up in this comp. That is all.

Regarding Div 1 I believe each team must be on their game on any given day. Chelsea Hts now with a few back are still not a bad side, Clayton are still strong but not as much depth as the past couple of years. St Kilda City are obviously the team to beat as everyone suggests and their 4-0 record shows. St Pauls have impressed me the most and I firmly think their the best side Ive seen play. Cheltenham have a strong defensive and make you work hard to kick big scores but rely on too few up forward. Stop Worner, Bennett and Shalders like the Vampires did in Rd 1 and your on the way to beating them. East Brighton have had a tough early draw and lots of injuries to key players but lack 'alot' of depth. Will push some sides and my smoky for the 4. Mordialloc have obviously improved and have a some good runners along with a few big forwards eg: Lemon, Kirkland, Martello make them no pushover. Highett are unlucky to lose some key talls for the season both thru injuries and travel overseas. Heatherton and Tooronga Malvern will both surprise on their given day but may struggle to win more than 3-4 games between them.

My ladder prediction at the moment: (open to others opinion)
1. St Kilda City
2. St Pauls
3. Clayton
4. Cheltenham
5. East Brighton
6. Chelsea Hts
7. Mordialloc
8. Highett
9. Tooronga Malvern
10. Heatherton

Interestingly, I went and watched Springvale Districts play on Saturday and believe that they would defiantly hold their own in Divvy 1. Except for injury are certainties for the flag.

Yeah sorry enemy, misread it there. Enjoying hearing your thoughts on divvy 3
No worries hammy i made the mistake watching Dandy and Doveton not a real high standard of a game,Dandy very over rated and Doveton will find it harder in the second half of the year with some of those young guy's.Next week i'm off to Skye and Yarra it's crunch time for the bombers, they lose that and it's all over down there luckly for Smasher and his crew clearances close in june so they can bail out if need be.That is all.:thumbsu:

PDog how's the thumb?
Pining has been red carded how long does he get sent off for? :)

yeah bit hard to take.

With the 50 I think everyone at the ground a part from the Umpire thought he was off but thats the way he saw it I guess.

Most of us know that they shouldn't have been within 4 points of us that late in the game. Good wake up call IMO

If pining has been carded thats his own fault, he has nothing but negative comments & a lot of rumors that dont eventuate, I agree with the moderator ,until he stops telling liesw ban him:p

Thumb still sore probably another 3-4 weeks until Im back playing. Back to training this week though only running. No ball skills till probably next week. We need a win this week to bounce back but from all reports the boys had a red hot dip last Sat.

Well round 5 will see 2nd Vs 4th and 1st Vs 3rd in Divvy2.

This will be a real chance to line up Springy and Dingley, In round 1 Springy saw off Oakleigh under lights by over 50pts, Lets see how close Dingley get to Oakleigh.

One would think Springy would beat Caulfield by a fair margin.

Anyway upset of the round Oakleigh to beat Dingley by upwards of 15pts.

Anybody else care to make a prediction???????

Its hard to find much loyalty when too much money gets envolved. Some players get loyal to the dollar and not the club.:(

Dingley by 5 goals!

In my opinion its a 2 horse race in Divvy 2 between the neighbours- Springy & Dingley. Both are well drilled outfits and should battle it out. Bring on Rd 8 to see how they fair against one another.
Oakleigh would be next best in the comp though probably lack the standout players of these top two. Still wouldnt surprise me to see them beat 1 of these sides throughout the year but not this Saturday down at the 'Den'. Dingoes to win by 6-7 goals. Caulfield are probably the 4th best and after an even first half won't be fit enough to run with the star-studded Springy lineup out at Princes Park. Springy comfortably.

pretty close to the mark i think.

the vampires only problem is depth. not one of their players in the reserves could play in the seniors. not one. apart from that they are pretty good. your good self was excellent in round 1 pdog.

the demons looked pretty average in the first few rounds but that was a huge win on saturday. not many teams head to clayton and come home with the choccies. if they play at their best they will still miss the finals though.

st kilda city are justifying the hype. i dont think they have hit full throttle just yet. coach will be very happy witht he progress the players have made and will be looking forward to the second half of the year when he knows how everyone else plays.

st pauls are interesting. seem to have recruited very well and are putting it together. they only problem is whether their game style will stand up to that of the only strong sides. they struggled against chelt and clayton last year who both have very qucik small men.

cheltenham are a bit like freo. at their best they are the best in the comp, but if they have a down day they can be beaten by just about every one. the vampires tore them apart at hurlingham and heatherton took it right up to them as well. from what i have heard they have got a few out still and hope to have them back by mid year.

highett are very hard to get a read on. they have some of the best talls in the comp and their little men are ok too but they drop too many 'must win' games. the loss of big smithy certainly hurts but they have enough hieight to cover it. i reckon they will bounce back very hard this week and could give the rosellas a real run for their money.

mordi have improved but still get by on bashing the opposition. they did it last year and were lucky not have blokes suspended for king hits behind the play and with lemon still playing nothing has changed. he is a great player when he wants to be, but surely his luck is about to run out with the umps turning a blind eye to his antics.

both heatherton and tooronga arent up to div 1 level. the try hard but they just dont have the cattle. it will be a good experience for both of them to play against better opposition than they have for the past 10 years but in reality they are a long way off the mark. in my opinion heatherton will stay up and t-m will get relegated.

anyway its been an interesting start to the year with a few upsets and some good new players coming into the league. i dont think my opinion has changed from pre season. im still tipping a st kilda city/chelt grand final, but that may change if st pauls continue to show the form they displayed the past two weeks.

Any ideas where clubs are going for their end-of-season trip away this year. Just to get an indication of the place and dates??
Hows the fundraising going for it?? What sort of initiatives are clubs doing to raise money for their trip?
