Tighello, look at the facts Brown,Taunt,Rickard and Phillips have been ressie players for what 3 or 4 years so are you saying the previous coaches got it wrong.

Yes i agree Prem ressie players that is true no doubt but that was achieved in a 2nd rate ressie comp from last year what 5 sides in it come on be serious when you put up an arguement.

Laxton yer nice one iv'e watched him for the last 2 years serious has he ever earned his spot if he wasn't built like a gorilla he wouldn't get a game.

Playing every week in the seniors doesn't make you a senior player he didn't get a kick in the GF last year.

Firstly, that's not Tighello.

Secondly, not many people had good games during that last Grand Final, so to single out one person is a bit of a cop-out. Especially considering how good he was during the season, and how important he is when it comes to having a quality ruckman to give Jazz a chop-out.

Thirdly, all those players you have singled out as being 'second rate' ressie players (lulz) have shown they can put in good shifts in the seniors. I play with them and have seen them first hand, I personally feel confident with them in the side. Rickard in particular has torn a few sides apart, and has kicked 9 or so goals so far this season, he's got a better kick than practically everyone in the league - just needs to cut out the brain farts.

Again I'd like to reiterate that Joffa is an absolute gun, and will dominate the goal kicking this season. Dennis too is so clean, and is really a cut above this competition (well at least that's my opinion anyway - it's yet to be seen if he proves me right).

And lastly, just out of interest do you play in the league, or are you just a casual observer?

I "love" reading people come on our divi 3 thread and knock our comp, knock out 2s comp and knock our 3rds comp, jeepers and goodness me that some people have to start somewhere, we aint all superstars like yourselves, some of us weren't born in a footy culture from the start, and God forgive us all for having a dip!!!

I don't normally get fired up.

anyways, Dragons training last night were full of spirit, one of the best sessions I've attended, certainly see the importance of the game Vs Dandenong tomorrow, all 3 sides, 3rds had to pick a team from 52 players, and it wasn't easy. Good on them for all having a go.

My tips:
Lyndale just over Morrabbin by a straight kick - again.
Sandown by 20 over the Eagles
Dragons to get over Dandenong in a tight one
Mount to easily get over the Hills, ( sorry Micky R ) but at least Hills are in the comp and HAVING A GO...

cheers and have a good weekend of footy!!!

Another lazy 6 goals (and 1 behind) for the big Joffa, bringing his tally to 20.2 for the season.... Can't wait 'til he's fully fit and had half a season of footy in 'im, he's going to monster sides when he's got his touch back to it's best.

Taken from the Dandneong Leader:

In Division 3 things just keep getting better for the new-look Sandown. As if to make a statement that they are genuine premiership prospects, the Cobras caned a lacklustre Doveton Eagles by 105 points in a one-sided affair at Edinburgh Reserve.

Dominating in almost every position on the ground, the Cobras slammed on 11 goals in the second quarter, no doubt bringing a lump to the throat to their longstanding supporters with memories of too often being on the wrong end of such beltings.
In what was a stirring team effort, Jason Toan, early league medal favourite and ruck star Matt Menzies, and Jake Chapman were outstanding, as were sharpshooters Shane Cosstick and Russell Weeding, who snared five goals apiece.

Dandenong
jumped into third spot on the Division 3 ladder when it outlasted a horribly inaccurate Southern Dragons outfit by five points in a thriller at Greaves Reserve.
The Dragons sprayed the goals for an unbelievable 7.26, leaving the Redlegs (11.7) to claim victory.
The Redlegs were well served by Chris Hatfield, Brad Smith and Matt Doggett, while Damien Busch was active up forward with four goals.
Stevan Pisevski, Glen Cochrane, Andrew Tran and Noel Joseph did well for the Dragons, who will no doubt cop their fair share of kicking practice at training this week.

Moorabbin
, with five Irishmen, two New Zealanders, three Lebanese and a Sri Lankan in its team, upset Lyndale by two points at Barry Powell Reserve.
The Kangaroos had to withstand a late charge by the Pumas, who had their share of winners, with Adam Read, Matt Stuart, Trent Isbister and Ben Mayers among them, while Brian Grundy bagged five goals.

I have noticed a few people have gone very quiet...

Our big test is against Mount Waverley, and we can not wait!!!

hahaha pure gold from the local reporters there

but in review from the game against doveton, it was played in very good spirits in both the 1s and 2s, not reports and anything from the game, very good hard game from everyone, fair in every aspect so i think when its called for give them there praise, things may be changing at doveton but it does take time. in the past doveton being down specially in the 2s would have gone the punch but not once did it happen as they tried hard all game was a good day for sandown in the end

Have known Joffa for a fair while and i can tell you he has never been fit in his life so that is a silly statement.:p

Bad day at the office all around on Sat for the Dragons...be sure to bounce back from it...looking forward to the challenge against the Kangas...Not sure what you guys are talking about with all the Sushi talk...may get the Wok out for the next home game and take orders for stir fried noodles...:thumbsu: #winning...

Lyndale to hopefully bounce back, and win by 3 goals
Southern will kick more accurately this week and should get over the Kangaroos in another close one.
Mount easily, they seem to be back in form.
Sandown easily too

Good luck to all teams

What is happening over there with dragons last 3 games Under 8 points! Need to lift if to make finals! Think they are good enough to play finals but maybe lack experience in the close games?

The sushi has well and truly dried up down at the Dragons :p

I'm interested in hearing some feedback and thoughts on the Falcons?

Sandown and Mount this week . . . massive!

The boys really cant wait for this weeks clash against mount. This match will really give us a true understanding of where we are at.

In regards to EH, they are not a bad side, and coming in for their first year arent too far off the pace. What i did notice they are lacking is onfield discipline. Too many times they were giving away 50m and stupid free kicks... THE UMPIRE WILL NEVER REVERSE HIS DECISION!!!

They dont seem to have much structure and lack of a proper ruckman really hurt them in the clearences.

In terms of their facilities, the rooms themselves werent bad at all, quite a decent size. Something needs to be done about the scoreboard and siren... can hardly see the scores or hear the siren. To hard to judge on ground conditions as it was a miserible day.

I believe though, that they will not suprise a couple of sides next time round and should notch up a couple of wins throughout the season.

Goodluck to them for the rest of the season.

SFL Division 3 Match of the Year to date coming up this Saturday 21st May at Edinburgh Reserve (80D5) - Sandown vs. Mt Waverley, top 2 clash in the Reserves and Seniors. Looking forward to seeing a big crowd as the two pacesetters of Division 3 go head to head this Saturday. If you love your local footy get along for what should be a great day's action.

Looking forward to playing Sandown... Nothing better than playing on a nice big (and hopefully not too muddy) ground.

Mate, the ground is in supreme condition. Training on it last night was great and hopefully the weather holds out for saturday. Should be a a big turnout.
