I think it's hilarious all the money coming for the horse purely on the back of a track gallop beating Jimmy Choux comfortably.

So what!?

Nothing against RI but foolish to bet on the basis of trackwork!

dont get me wrong jimmy is a quality horse with a big chance but i dont think the track gallop would be all its based on. RI won the aami vase 12 months ago which is over the same track distance and run a quicker time then what so you think did winning the cox plate, RI is flying this prep and that showed in his gallop in which he never really performs. Personally i would like to see helmut win.

For a horse that is 'flying' he was beaten quite comfortably in the Turnbull last time out.

It is what the money is based on.

It was untouched in the market prior and the TAB took $100K worth on in straight after the gallop.

He didn't disgrace himself like Lion Tamer did in his last start.

PS. Dosh for RI has a lot to do with his draw.

RI is back at the valley where it runs its best races, you might of seen 2 starts back when beating whobegotyou. RI is set for the cox plate and they have it peaking at the right time.

He was pretty impressive winning the Vase at this track and distance last year, not sure why you think he'll puncture.

I didn't say RI will puncture, I just said don't judge Jimmy on a 1200m track gallop, as RI is talented over a shorter trip as evidenced by his 2nd place first up in the Auries Star this Spring. I backed RI in the Vase last year, was a good win after doing a bit of work but dunno if he beat much. The big worry I have on Rekindled is he doesn't seem to win a lot. Breaks through then falls back into the pack.

My big call is that Helmet will be the one who punctures, the lightweight might see him cling on to 3rd or 4th but he is a miler at best.

The decision is going to be "when" to take the Jimmy Choux odds for the second time.

Thank you RI fans...made my day.

LMAO

As for the track gallop, isn't it funny how punters only want to believe what suits them.

Two things we know this week Dunedin only races over 3200 mtrs...I was worried about the drop back in distance but alls well that ends well.

Secondly, Jimmy Choux has just hadTWO recent group one wins over the Cox Plate distance and his form is franked. Unknowns - barrier and track. Hopefully, he trails Helmut into a nice sit.

Whats the knock on him??? don't tell me you're counting a RI trial defeat when all got ballsed up with the pacemaker.

Keep backing RI punters.

LOL

GO JIMMY!

Who's helmut

Helmet's full brother?:p:confused:

I'm still looking for Jimmy and Glass Harmonium for this race, I reckon they have the most consistent WFA form of any of the horses in the race, and if JC is anywhere near as improved as we are lead to believe, he'll win.

Plus, and this is my heart talking a little but, I don't want Helmet to win.

We will never see Helmet run on Australian soil again after this Saturday, unless he loses, as he is almost certain to head straight over seas for a 12 month campaign and then straight to the breeding yards after that.

It's SYT after one year, I hate it, I want to see the best horses run here, and if JC wins, he'll come back next year and try to go back to back, and so will GH if he wins.

Anyone else surprised to see Beckon (55.5) come up favourite ahead of Karuta Queen (55)?

KQ is best over 1100. 1300 may be too far for her. She just goes flat stick the whole way. I reckon they will try to take a sit but doubt she can cuz her gate speed is amazing. I am a massive wrap for Miss Stellabelle

EDIT: It is actually a 1200m race. I miss read it, its called the 1300 australia stakes. I should have known they dont run 1300m races at Money Valley

My mind is full of f***.

I love it when posters decide spelling and punctuation over rides the message.

Sorry for the misplaced vowel causing a spelling error.

Somehow the bookies still paid me out on HELMETS last two starts.

And they will be paying out on Jimmy Choux.

If Glass Harmonium wins the Cox Plate, I will give up punting on the horses.

Lol why do you give him no chance? Has been very consistent and December Draw took the whole straight to get the better of him last start. Has drawn to get a good run and is not without a hope at 13s. I wont be backing him but i can undertand why someone would and it wouldnt be a shock if he got up

Had no choice but to be there at the end with December Draw with how slowly they went. I already have said enough about December Draw.

Is grossly overrated horse, and the moment there is any pressure, this will be shown. Cox Plate is a high pressure race. Will give up following horses if this even goes close.
