Ha brilliant what a jinx ... you backed Waltham at 30-1 and you're complaining it didn't win/place?

After this Lloyd had 3 rides left on the card

1st - Perspiration paid $11/3.40
3rd - Suparazi - $4 for the place
1st - Makarena - $4.5/2.25

🤪
Yep my mate pointed that out too, every single time I back him he absolutely slaughters it.
He is either brilliant or horrible.
Waltham being 30/1 has nothing to do with whether it was ridden well, I backed it on merit and it was an absolute head shaker of a ride.

Bustling out of the everest. Absolute waste of 2 mil. Price stable absolutely cast. Only 2 stables going worse are Busted and Old and Griffiths De Kock and they are woeful year on year.
Don’t say that! I’ve got one with “Busted and Old” today at Tatura.
They do have some nice 2 and 3 year olds coming through.

They trial like Tarzan and race like Jane. Hope for your sake your one bucks the trend kind of like El Roca, but in my experience, they just can't go the extra yard once the big boys and better stables come along in the spring and autumn. Could be worse could be with Kent Jr or Griffo. The latter 56 runners this season for 3 winners at 5.4%. 18 in the city for nothing. Completely legless

Agree, ours is a Savabeel and a typical Savabeel too. 2000m today still may be too short but Beau Mertens is a good rider so quite confident he runs top 3.
Last start Jake Noonan rode it, who I don’t rate, he’d had 2 wins from his last 50 rides.
You are correct in that some trial brilliantly and race average, Cawdor is an example of that. Could be even worse than Kent Jr you could end up having one transferred to Bryce Stanaway 🤣 slowest horses in the state.

Noonan should have his licence revoked. What take Stanaway ahead of Price at the minute

QUE TEMPESTA @ $17 / $5 in the Metrop will do me. Finally gets down in the weights and out to his ideal trip here. The SP profile against a horse like Future History well in his favour, loves going the Sydney way and will have no issues with any rain that comes on the day

BERKSHIRE SHADOW $26 / $7.25 all over in the Epsom too. Ridden completely cold first up and never got a look in all the way up the straight and was cast 3 wide no cover the trip last time but still strong enough to the line

Yep he’s terrible, just had Beau put in an ordinary ride on ours before, although the horse raced super green and had two checks as well.
I just called Trent and said “mate the horse has had 2 starts and 2 trials , Why the eff is it racing like it’s never seen a track before!!!

What bullshit excuse did Trent give you?

Anyone else had a problem with Betfair unilaterally applying an exposure limit to their account? They did this to me at some time in the last year (without warning or consultation) but I’ve only just discovered it as I up my bets at this time of year. It’s proving very unhelpful and they refuse to increase it until the expiry of a cooling off period of 7 days. Apparently this is a general policy they’ve applied so they can tell the regulator they’re doing something about responsible gambling. Never mind that it’s an absolutely brain dead policy and a straitjacket applied to all.

If any of you are anticipating substantial laying activity in the coming weeks, you might want to check if they’ve done this to your account too.

Will tail you in here Jug both races I can’t get a read on

Gringotts would’ve been a bet if they’d ran in the Epsom

My two cents for the weekend ahead is that Unusual Legacy (C Waller) has a bit of a freak show about it. Following his career trajectory, it won a maiden over the mile in NZ, then was freshened. Resumed first up in Aus over 1500 with market expectation (SP $1.70) and was ridden to lose and flash late. Second start for Waller over 1800 bolts up (SP $2.15) third start 1900 metres Canterbury (SP $1.80) better win than it looked on an on pace night. Second campaign resumed with an apprentice aboard over unsuitable 1500 again. Not there to win but should’ve. Second up 1700 (SP 2.40) wins.
Third campaign resumed again in a 1500m race with an apprentice on. Given no hope. Second up 1800m huge win with SP (2.25). Then went to last Saturday’s race over 1900. Brilliant run in defeat knowing the camp didn’t want to tax him for the week back up. There is a clear pattern emerging. Waller knew this horse would either scrape in or be an emergency. He packed the race with his eligible horses (Manzoice, El Bodegon) only to scratch to get this bloke in the race. Will eat 2400m.
Lightly raced down on the minimum it should be winning the Metrop. Happy to speck his other runner Matusalem at big odds too.

Others I’m interested in on the day include-

Randwick R7 - Think About It
Randwick R9- Ceolwulf & Molly Bloom
Flemington R3- El Paso
Flemington R6- Von Hauke
Flemington R8- Eliyass
Flemington R9- Chain Of Lightning
Flemington R10- Caste & Tiz Invincible
