Andrew Bensley on Sport 927 reporting Atlantic Jewell going to the Wakeful then the Oaks. If she runs in the Oaks she wins. Only Sportsbet have reacted as yet and halved her into even money.

Great news if true, just to see her run 2 more times this spring would be awesome.

We have 3 absolute stars now, with Sepoy, Black Caviar and this filly, and it seems we will get to see all of them have at least 2 more starts now.:)

If you are betting on the tote tomorrow (not many here would be) I'd be looking to take the fixed odds on Southern Speed right now, it's going to be the horse the public back for sure IMO.

I got SS at 25's each way after her last run, happy to be on her at those odds.:thumbsu:

Lucas Cranach has the quality, but these hoof issues are a bit of a worry, especially on the firm track that's likely tomorrow.

I'm not so sure it's great, Kav was pretty keen to spell her, you just hope Coolmore forcing him to run her doesn't lead to issues next season.
Yeah, that's the risk, but it's good to see a breeding based ownership actually taking that risk for once, rather then playing it safe.

She'll win the Wakeful by 5-6 lengths if they want to push her out, although if she comes up against Mosheen again in the Oaks, it may be a tougher task, Mosheen is one tough young horse who will grind the 2500m of the Oaks out with no problem IMO.

I'm not saying Mosheen will beat her, but I could see a battle in the straight where AJ only wins due to her superior class.

Did he really? Yowsers, no wonder he's been talking it up, probably took long odds on betfair and wants it as short as possible to lay off :)

What the hell?!?! That's probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard in racing.

First thing Kav said post-race on Wednesday was that he doesn't want to burn her out.

Easiest way to burn out a filly is by sending her on an Oaks prep. Happens every year, look at the Oaks winners.

If he wants to run her again, it would be the Cox Plate, or a freshen-up for the Coolmore (they do own her after all.)

Would she even stay the 2500 of an Oaks? She's by Fastnet Rock and looks too "brilliant" for such a distance. After dominating the Guineas in 2008, everyone thought Whobegotyou just had to turn up and the Derby was his.

Its pure economics,Coolmore stand Fastnet Rock so they want an Oaks winner out of him.
They only get to breed one a season from AJ but Fastnet Rock covers 100's per season @ 100k+

Her dam's by Zabeel so I guess if you're rolling the dice,it may as well be her.

Dam is by Zabeel - she'll run it out - at least against her own age and sex. She'll win as the best filly ala Miss Finland and Samantha Miss. No doubt Fastnet Rocks international resume will look better (to those outside of Aus) with an Oaks Classic to his name rather than a Cox Plate.

Does anyone watch Get on?

Last night he would mention it every 2 seconds ...

He actually pumped it up more in the first show. The trainer absolutely killed him and said he is using the horse to push himself up in the media spotlight! I couldn't believe it, I'm not sure shark saw that coming! It's absolutely true he's on two shows on tvn, and he gets a gig on melba radio when Lester has been crook which is fairly often of late. If he does have issues with his hoof it's playing with fire running him on that track.

Call me a wacko but does anyone give dream pedlar any type of chance? I think it's way overs at 101/$24. I've talked myself into a few long shots ...I'm off to the golf club at 11.30 tomorrow so I'll see how brave I am by 4pm I'll probably be declaring the bloody thing hahaha ...2 more schooners and another $100 on dream pedlar thanks Barkeep!

Pretty awful barrier, you think he'll have to try and push forward, but with Green Moon and Tullamore inside, I can see him getting stuck 3 wide, 1 or 2 back, and I don't think that's a winnable position.

Except if Green Moon does it

But hey, at $26 the place, there are worse bets you could have.

The field is so weird this year I only just realized he is running. He's a gutsy bastard and will get the trip but class is against him.

Money keeps coming for Shootoff who a lot of us like in our tris, 41 to 31 to 26.

Would need a Barbaricus type of run to have a chance.
