Had no choice but to be there at the end with December Draw with how slowly they went. I already have said enough about December Draw.

Is grossly overrated horse, and the moment there is any pressure, this will be shown. Cox Plate is a high pressure race. Will give up following horses if this even goes close.

How many lengths is close for you? ;) Who are you on in the race mate?

I got on Rekindled Interest at 10.00. And no, it is not just because of the track gallop lol.

I also like Sincero as a roughie.

No point having an opinion if you aren't going to do it proper, so let's say Glass Harmonium won't get within 6 lengths of the winner on the line. That should do it :)

That could be close lol, will be strong to the line you would think and shouldnt have to make a wide run like others will. I reckon he will get beat by less than six so will be interesting lol. Yeah RI is a reasonable chance i agree, too short for me now though. The over reaction to his jump out is actually quite funny. Like Jimmys trainer said, he doesnt get paid to win a jump out, so not sure why so many people got caught up in it. Im really looking forward to the whole day, earlier i had liked Descarado and will probably still have a small wager on him now he has blown out. I really like Secret Admirer but not sure how it will handle the track

Interesting that not too many are giving Sincero a chance, or at least seeing him as a good each way bet.

At the Snowden/Darley presser today (well Paul Snowden talking to 3 reporters:cool:) he mentioned their biggest threat (to Helmet) will come from Jimmy and also Sincero.

I'm starting to fall away from GH and towards Sincero as my each way/place horse.

I for one can never take Toorak/Epsom horses seriously in the Cox Plate.

Most of the time it's just the trainer/owners getting all excited at having a runner in the race.

Sincero and Secret Admirer I'm looking at you.

Actually it was your message that made the spelling look good in comparison.

I am getting pretty sick of righteous imbeciles that love taking pot shots at posters for having "opinions" on public forums.

Sometimes the punting board degenerates into Bay 13 because senior members here belittle and think sarcasm is their right of passage.

New posters clearly are made feel unwelcome and spat upon for offering their own opinions.

I come on here because I enjoy most postings. My bankroll is significant and as such I value the opinions of those I respect on this board. Occasionally, I will pick up information that has a huge effect on my winnings. Other times I enjoy the banter of like minded posters.

Helmet/Helmut who gives a F@#K...it has no bearing on the message.

As for my post, instead of being a smart**s, tell me why Jimmy Choux won't win. IMO he seems the class horse of the field but hey, it's only my opinion!

You think I am pissed off..I saw a Collingwood thread degenerate last week into literary arguments about sentence structure. FFS.

As enjoyable as it was, I won't be posting on this punting forum anymore, because I don't need to log on to the internet and be put down by some insecure donkey behind a keyboard.

For my investment sake, I will read the posts and take as much information as I can for my better judgement without offering my thoughts.

Happy Punting.

Come on now Larrikan, Hoffy is just naturally a smartarse. This place needs as many decent punters as possible, so keep posting.

Finding the same Larrikan, seems to be a closed shop here.

half are happy to get new opinions and tips while rest are just bitter old punters who put you down when you tip a winner - they are just Trolls, don't let them win.

Has anoyne seen the ias bonus this week. Is this correct.

I outlay $200 dollars on helmet at 3.40
If it wins they double your winnigns up to 200
So you return 680 (including original stake of 200) plus the extra 200 bonus
Total 880 - 200 = 680 profit if helmet wins.

If helmet loses then u get your stake back

why do they do that

To get people depositing $200+ into their account. Its a hard race to back a winner so they wont have to pay out that much in bonuses you wouldnt think and everyone else will have to turn that 200 over again and risk losing it. Its a good offer still but thats why they do it

There's nothing wrong with your thoughts on Jimmy Choux. I feel the same way.

I think I got caught up in your comments about the Geelong Cup winner.

"Two things we know this week Dunedin only races over 3200 mtrs...I was worried about the drop back in distance but alls well that ends well."

I couldn't figure out why you said we all know Dunaden only races over 3200mtrs?

The horse has had 26 starts and probably only 3 or 4 of those have been 3000m or more. In fact I don't think the horse has ever run 3200m before.

Don't let me put you off posting here. I can be a smartarse. It's got nothing to do with join dates.

Plus you usually have to turn the money over again before you can withdraw it so naturally they hope the carrot they dangle encourages a bigger outlay and if you lose they're happy, if you win, they expect you'll probably donate it back to them anyway.

It's really win/win for them, isn't it?

Love these promos, just got hit the winner.

Sure is.

Even stunts like paying out early on Richmond for the spoon 2 years back and Judd winning the Brownlow this year are all about promotion for them.

Neither ended up happening but the money they paid out was worth every cent in 'free' promotion of their name and brand and not to mention many of those paid out probably decided they would re-invest the same bet and hope to double up but actually end up giving it back again!

Exactly! The amount of conversations I listened to about how sportsbet were stupid for paying out early on Judd after Brownlow night was phenominal.

The publicity raised by a promo like this would cost at least what they paid out in advertising expenses and the effectiveness would be far greater because it got people to engage with eachother to discuss the company, rather than just being a TV / newspaper / radio ad in the background. Then you add the fact that most of what it cost to get this attention would have been given straight back to them with punters re-investing, the whole situation worked out amazingly for them, I'm pretty sure they'd be glad Judd lost.

Anyway back on topic, the drift in Jimmy Choux's price has him as the best bet for the plate for mine.
