Who is jumping up the board for us to get Langford ?

Our only hope of getting him is if Tauru jumps up causing him to slide

Could go:

Rich - Lalor
Rich - Smith
Carl - FOS
Adel - Draper
Melb - Smillie
North - Armstrong

??

I'm actually going off Melbourne grabbing Armstrong with either pick TBH.

They have Van Rooyan & took a KPF 2 years ago (Jefferson, pick 15)

They are more likely to take Tauru if they want a tall, otherwise I think they grab mids to support Trac, Oliver & Viney for one more crack at the flag.

Pick #7 - H Langford
Pick #8 - T Travaglia
Pick #32 - X Ivisic
Pick #47 - A Cole
Pick #80 - L Hofmann
Pick #88 - A Riddle

Vic Country would have been undefeated champions if the umpire had not paid a free kick and 50m penalty in the last seconds that gave Vic Metro the match. In my view the Vic Metro players have inflated draft credentials compared to Vic Country. By drafting the best available Vic Country recruits we are getting better value for our drafting dollar.

I think Langford could be the leader of our midfield for a very long time, and Travaglia brings the speed we require from half back, eventually participating in midfield rotations. Ivisic is an underrated outside player who may not be a need, but might be best available (unless Trainor is still on the board). Cole and Hofmann both exhibit qualities we desire and Riddle is in my view a talented bottom aged Ruckman from WA.
Almost went for Ivisic @32 as well.

If we do trade with GWS say pick #8 + #32 for picks #16, #21 and #56 then

#7 here's hoping we get Langford, (it will be about pick #9 or #10)
#16 Cooper Hynes (approx pick #19 or #20)
#21 Luke Trainor or Matt Whitlock (at pick #25)
#47 Cole
#56 Hofmann
#80 Pass

Rookie

Peckett
Ruckman - ?Riddle

Version 2 after Twomeys phantom draft was released. Assuming he is right and all the big rated mids are taken..

7. Tauru - Super aerialist and would be pumped landing him. Rules out Armstrong as we need a mid.
8. Reid - Not impressed with Travaglia, Allan or Lindsey. I see a lot of nothing disposals from them. On the other hand Reid has glorious disposal and nails tough and or risky kicks. Pace is fine. Reads the play strongly. Negative is he's not a bull so won't smash packs. I can live with that.

If we traded up on the night for Norths pick 2 then i still hope it's Langford we target. He is exactly what the midfield needs.

Quick check of the predictions and things are looking grim if it goes the way of Cal's phantom.

Thanks for all those that gave at least had a crack. Quite a few very regular posters on the draft thread seemed to have missed this thread completely. There you go.

Anyway ATM - Michael Goodinski & Pigeonracer have both selected Tauru @ 7 and Kildonian and Beside the Seaside have selected TT @ 8.

For all the rest of us - our only hope is that Cal T has stuffed it up completely

He doesn't - which sucks a lot of the interest out of draft night 🥱

Particularly vexed he was right about North, Carlton and Adelaide being too gutless to bid on Ashcroft.

Congrats to #Kildonian and #besidetheseaside who will carry the mantle of Draft Pick ITK Gurus into season 2025 by being the only ones to correctly predict that Tobie Travaglia would be our first selected draftee.

The rest of us - well we'll just go and hide in in a corner!!!
