Considering they weren't hurt, can we admire the beauty of those Carlton players perfect synchrony?

My mother in law is a Carlton supporter, i said to her, "look they get mistaken for bowling pins in that clash strip".

No way is Minch a must. Having a good quarter at AFL level isn't anything to write home about, sure he may have had 7 disposals in the 1st quarter, but he only had 9 for the next 3. He averages 11 disposals over his whole career, don't think he's a 'must have'.
since when is disposals everything? Nothing wrong with 16 disposals if most of them are quality! especially for a guy who plays the majority of the time forward with small stints in the midfield.. he had 23 pressure acts! the 3rd most of any saints player on the ground. Also had 5 clearances. which was the same amount as Steven, Armo and Dunstan.

Also he dominates when he goes back to VFL. Clearly a step above that level.
Definitely worth persisting with beyond this year IMO

i love minch but he did butcher it he also rushes his kicks. he had a few occasion where he had more time than he thought. it may just be a transitional thing from vfl to afl. overall happy to have him in the team he has a hard edge about him.

watching jimmy's hit again, reckon he knew exactly what he was doing, using his peripherals, feigning an attempt at the mark. Either that or he really misread the flight.. better chance that he's a mongrel

I thought the same thing, he knows what hes doing, i like our Jimmy, hes one tough nut.

I had him down for a most improved player at the start of the year, he still needs to work on some other parts of his game, but his toughness at the contest cant be disputed.

LOL. If a saints player ever got anywhere near that level everyone would lose their shit but because he's from another team it was 'overrated due to circumstances'? That's hilarious. It's also very sad.
For what it's worth, I was at the game and he had Gibson hanging off him all night.
FWIW, Gibson only went to Dangerfield halfway through the 3rd quarter. Gibson spent the first two thirds of the game on Motlop.

Swallow was the one going H2H with Dangerfield until he got KO'd. Cunnington was on Selwood until he couldnt run with his corky. Dal Santo was on Mitch Duncan until he had to go back after straining his groin

And also, I rate Jack Steven's 25 touch game on Saturday better than Dangerfield's game because no Carlton mids that were injured & Steven was tagged from the 1st bounce. A 25 touch game that yielded 164 SC points against an injury free team, or a 48 touch game that yielded 229 SC points against an injury plagued team. Personally feel Jack's game has more merit, but let the media keep masturbating over Dangerfield, it means our boys under the radar.

I'm not saying Dangerfield's game wasnt good, it was fantastic. I just think when the media is hyping it up as much as they are, they need to add that North's midfield crew had injuries pretty much made 3 completely ineffective after the 1st quarter. And hence why i said it was overrated.

Anyways, not really fussed if you want to jump of the Dangerfield pump & inflate his head any more than it already is. The more hype, the sweeter it will be to see the bubble burst in another 11 days.

Go you Sainters. The Geelong game is very winnable. Jump them early like the Pies & Blues did

You can't argue with biased supporters.

You're saying those things like no one else does them. If you really think he was outstanding I would love to see what you thought of Dangers game Saturday night.
Gilbert's cons far out weigh his pros.

Not everyone does it. Webster is making a very bad habit of front running and getting very loose waiting for others to get him the ball. Gilbert does the selfless stuff, that's obviously why he's in the team because statistically he isn't doing a lot. Of course Dangerfield is an elite player so is obviously much higher impact. It's not some conspiracy to keep him in when his stats don't read well, it just good to remember why he gets a game rather than hand wringing because you want a kid played instead.

Put Jacky steven up against Danger or keep nathan Wright in just to tag him actually think wright is the perfect match up for him

Put Jimmy Webster in one of those set ups like they had in A Clockwork Orange, hype him up and let him go at Dangerfield.

From Pages 1 - 5 on the Carlton review thread. Just for laughs. Some posts have been shortened, but none have been altered.
all honest comments, save sack Bolton

He did do this though.

The post that must be quoted. A like just isn't enough!

To be fair to Jimmy his intent was always to spoil. But his knees let him down. Like mine do when I'm playing basketball with the bros. I often find that my synapses neurotransmit electric impulses down to the muscles surrounding the ligature in my knees saying "THE DUNK IS ON", but the message comes back "OVERLOAD, SYSTEM FAIL, JUMP COMMAND TERMINATED".

Thank you Jimmy Webster and burningdwarf for the gift that will keep giving.

I certainly wouldn't go with Wright. Be lucky to keep his spot and completely unbalances the midfield if he is in there. I also would probably not use Jack. We need him to worry about his own game and be as good as he can. I wouldn't tag but go with Ross or Armo to look for him at every stoppage.

Geary rocks. Menzel will be the next lucky recipient of some attention from the glove.

The other thing about Geary is he knows his disposal isn't his strongest asset. But every time he takes possession, if he knows a kick is the right option to take out of defense he doesn't shy away from it. The easy option for him would be to go into his shell and handball the responsibility to a team mate.

Mate your posts are erudite and articulate. You are wrecking all the sweeping generalisations about Fijians.

My casual racism has been given a huge blow because of you. Hope you are happy ;)

His handballs miss their targets anyway

I am to casual racism what Webster is to Blues forwards?! I'll take it.

3 out of 4 times he gets back and cleans up his own clangers otherwise he would cost us 3 goals a game

not a geary knocker, but (not having watched too much of him) will mezel be too strong a marking target for our fearless leader?
