From what I've seen we were more like VFL.I do not recall much of this in Victoria. The VFL seemed to favour stripes, hoops, and sashes quite early on. Monograms were truly that quite early on. What was the SANFL like?

Central District during the 80's wore a strip that was a little unconventional.
Predominantly white with thin red and blue stripes from the left shoulder down, very English soccer style.
Yeah I just came here to post that! I hadn't seen most of those before – and especially hadn't seen a game ball with both red and yellow panels, that's straight outta the soft-touch bin at Rebel Sport – but man, they're cool.
I know fellow footy jumper board aficionado Smeagle owns one of those Subi ones somehow, but I god damn swear I've seen that Souths one before. My main junior club wore an inverse of the normal Bulldogs jumpers, so we might've had one or two floating around as training strips. But also... if this has Fast Eddie's as a back sponsor, I reckon I inherited it but no longer have it. Wherever I saw it, I reckon I used to wonder how a blurred gorilla was supposed to resemble a dog...
Nah that was so bad. The mismatched back was one of the worst you could ever see as well... it'd be if the Royal wings backed onto the tripanel.really miss the the blue east freo jumper with the shark that was worn up until just a few years back. The current one is pretty p*** poor, they've tried to style it like the jumper of the 70's/80's but have stuffed it up big time, too much white and the font for the 'effc' emblem looks very tacky, like someones just typed the letters on micrsoft notepad or something.
each to their own i guessNah that was so bad. The mismatched back was one of the worst you could ever see as well... it'd be if the Royal wings backed onto the tripanel.

Centrals wore a set of Jumpers in there first year that were used and donated by FootscrayWas a carbon copy of the Bulldogs' preseason/night competition jumper back then.
Centrals used to wear Bulldogs jumpers when they first started - pretty sure their first jumper was what Footscray are wearing now.
Who used it first: Footscray or Central District do you know? Being SA-centric, I always assumed Centrals had it first. Was a carbon copy of the Bulldogs' preseason/night competition jumper back then.

Edit: I'm talking about the white with vertical stripes jumper
Footscray I'm pretty sure as Centrals didn't start using the hoops until later 80s early 90s.
That would have been difficult to watch at times. Is that the "Demon" team's main or clash jumper? If the latter, you'd have to ask; why bother?Had this genius match up of jumpers in the TSL on Saturday, all navy blue vs a solid navy blue back. Very confusing at times.

Last night West Brom (all-white with navy stripes) faced Sunderland (white with red stripes, black shorts). Terrible.Seriously?
Talk about the clash of all clashes!
Imagine the AFL logic applying to the Premier League....
"Man Utd and Liverpool are part of the Big 4 and thus do not clash"
Away team of Sunderland and Southampton just wears white shorts because white shorts always solves clashes.
#Logic

Yep, I watched the Derby and that was disgusting as well..I know Newcastle and Sunderland always wear full home kits against each other

Do Southport have or have they ever had a clash guernsey? I've been looking around and can't find any sight of one.
Redland also wear white so I assumed they would. I've seen photos of Redland wearing one against them but not the other way round.Would they actually need one?
