It looks great to have that game from yesteryear included in the table. I have discovered a few others from the 1980s as mentioned in some old Football Records.

Just added in North Melbourne's effort in the 1977 Grand Final to the above table.

Now for an actual stats question: when was the last time Melbourne produced the highest score in a round?

I am interpreting your question as teams who could not safely feel as though they had the game won, despite their opponent experiencing a barren goal scoring timeframe.
The answer is probably West Coast vs. Hawthorn in 2012, Essendon vs. Footscray in 1989 and also Collingwood vs. Footscray in 1983. These are the closest results, apart from the draw in 1977. Hawthorn got to within a goal of West Coast at the 25 minute mark of the final quarter, and the margin stayed within a 4-5 point range for the remaining 8 minutes.
Essendon did not score a goal against Footscray after the 10 minute mark of the second quarter and began the final term only 11 points ahead. They managed to hold on in muddy conditions which made scoring difficult, winning by 5 points.
In the 1983 game, Footscray got to within six points at the 11 minute mark of the last quarter. From there on they kicked another six behinds and Collingwood only one goal as the quarter went on for another 18 minutes, Collingwood finishing 6 points in front. In fact there was no score from either team for the last five and a half minutes.

The longest time goalless but still won the match.
 
Of the teams mentioned in the table, those who won were Fitzroy in 1986, West Coast in 2012, and Carlton in 2016, so Fitzroy with a period of 60 minutes would be the answer to your question.
 
Has anyone ever done a Levi Casboult before today and if the answer is yes how many times has it occurred?

Ignoring his free kick against what I mean has anyone ever finished with a stat line of 1 mark but 0 disposals (yes, it's because of his injury)

Paul Stewart - Port Adelaide vs. Adelaide 2013 Rd. 19 appears to have been the most recent case (prior to the unfortunate Casboult):-

Stewart had 3% game time which would make sense, Gehrig 89% game time, I've no idea what was going on there!

Jason Dunstall (in 1990) is another big name player with the same figures. This must be the game when he was kneed in the head after taking a mark. Brereton recorded no stats at all, so not sure about that one:- http://afltables.com/afl/stats/games/1990/101119900526.html

I've included a .txt file which shows 26 examples (stretching back to 1965) of a player recording a mark but no disposals. I'm not sure how reliable things are with some of the earlier player statistics, and haven't checked to try and find out if there is a good explanation for the highly unusual figures.

The longest known quarter ran for 40 minutes 39 seconds. This was the 2nd quarter of the Bulldogs vs. Hawthorn game from round 5, 2001.
As for the longest quarter broadcast on Channel 10, I believe one would need to have a list of all games they broadcast and then compare that list to the list of longest quarters.
 
When was the last time neither team scored a behind in a quarter, as with yesterday's game between Carlton and Brisbane Lions (third quarter)?

Brisbane in 1992 had 3059, 3876, 4349, 4603 and 4902 (all at Carrara).

Melbourne vs. Port Adelaide at Traeger Park in 2015 drew 4866, the only other game since 1992 with less than 5000.
 
What's the smallest official crowd in history? Even in the 1800s you'd get a few thousand to every game.

The exact answer is hampered by the fact that proper numbers weren't tallied in the very earliest days. And many grounds had approximate tallies until much later- hence why, if you look at old records up until even the 1960s, you'll see a whole lot of 'exact' attendances. That is, right on say 21000, or 24000, and so on.

Hawthorn vs. Melbourne at Glenferrie in 1941, and Collingwood vs. Hawthorn at Victoria Park in 1942, both had only 2000 people in attendance supposedly. As above, you can bet that those numbers are not exact ones.

What would be more interesting is to know how many crowds we've had since exact tallies were kept at all grounds where the total has been 'exact'- right on a x000. I know Collingwood vs. Footscray at Docklands in Round 22 2009 got 49000 exactly, for example.

You were very close, but it was the Rd. 1 clash between those sides the following year that drew 49000 exactly! Also very close to that figure was the attendance (48,888) from the 2009 (Rd. 22) game you mentioned!!

I couldn't come up with a more 'scientific' way of searching for this, so I've checked AFL Tables yearly results pages from 1966 to 2016 (doing a page search for ,000) and this is what I found:-

2010 Round 1 Western Bulldogs vs. Collingwood Docklands Stadium 49,000
1999 Round 20 Port Adelaide vs. Melbourne Football Park 26,000
1987 Round 7 Carlton vs. Geelong Waverley Park 31,000
1966 Round 16 Collingwood vs. North Melbourne Victoria Park 19,000
1966 Round 12 Fitzroy vs. South Melbourne Brunswick Street 7,000

These figures match those from another source I've checked.

1965 has 5 occurrences of x000 and 5 of x500 so presumably up to about that time the figures would not have been so reliable. The two from 1966 may have only been approximate figures as well.

32 times there has been a behind-less 1st Quarter (most recent: 2012 Round 1 Fremantle 6.0 vs. Geelong 4.0)
27 times there has been a behind-less 2nd Quarter (most recent: 2011 2nd SF Hawthorn 7.0 vs. Sydney 4.0)
* 33 times there has been a behind-less 3rd Quarter (most recent: 2009 1st PF St Kilda 4.0 vs. Western Bulldogs 2.0)
35 times there has been a behind-less 4th Quarter (most recent: 2004 Round 20 Melbourne 1.0 vs. Sydney 0.0)

* This week's games not included.

This adds up to 127 behind-less quarters, but the database search tells me there have been 126 games with behind-less quarters. Which must mean there has been 1 game with 2 such quarters:- 1980 Round 14 Geelong 6.0 & 2.0 vs. North Melbourne 0.0 & 0.0 had a behind-less second half!

Weren't Carlton goalless for three and a half quarters against the Bulldogs in 1991? They kicked 1.10.16 and their only goal was scored half way through the final qtr.
 
Two questions:

1 The Bulldogs have an 8-3 win/loss record in 2016 without winning three games in a row. The only way it is possible for a team to be 8-3 after 11 matches without winning three consecutive matches is to have the following sequence of wins and losses. W W L W W L W W L W W - and that is exactly what the Bulldogs have done this year.

How many teams have previously had an 8-3 record without winning three consecutive games up until that stage of the season?

2 When the Bulldogs play Port Adelaide on Saturday, it will be the 8th consecutive week the Bulldogs play an opponent who won the previous week. I don't expect this to be a record - but I am wondering what the record is for teams playying consecutive matches against an opponent who won the previous week.

This is quite true, the goal actually came at the 26 minute mark of the final quarter. However it is basically impossible to note how many minutes Carlton went goalless over the entire game unless the complete game itself can be witnessed. I have not been able to find it on YouTube or on fnwb.com.au., and I don't own a copy of the game. YouTube has only the final five and a half minutes of the game.
