Just heard on SEN that Steven Morris, Son of Kevin, has been given permission to train at the tigers. He must be about 21/22 now as thought he played TAC Cup back in 2007.

Does anyone know where he has been?

Also I have really like the look of Travis Tuck this year in the VFL and is well work a look IMHO.

Would be a perfect transition from S.Tuck to T.Tuck over the next 1-2 seasons.

From Chris25's Phantom Draft.
Actually selected him going to us.
#49 Richmond - Steve Morris (185cm defender - West Adelaide)

First mature aged draftee to feature in my draft. Morris is a 22 year old defender from the SANFL who has recovered from a knee injury in 2009, he reads the ball really well and helps out as a third man up. He also has excellent speed which makes him a really dangerous rebounding option. As a genuine ball winner, he could push up to the wing and use his speed further up the ground. He can play shorter than what he is. AFL Comparison: Paul Puopolo.

Steven Morris could be on an AFL list next year.
Not for the first time this season, Morris has cut an opposition side to shreds from half back. He is lightning fast, reads the play perfectly so cuts off several kicks, keeps his man quiet and dashes through the middle. (Think Paul Puopolo from Norwood last year). Had a team-high 27 disposals today and will be right in Magarey Medal voting mid-way through the season.

From Chris25.

Very nice option for Richmond. I remember reading he was invited to train with Richmond as a potential F/S pick, like 3 years ago or something. Completely forgot about it though.

He can definitely play as a lock down defender. I see him as a similar player to Graham Johncock and Paul Puopolo. So can play on the small forwards while also helping out his other defenders by cutting in front of the leading forward, but is a great rebounding option too. He has excellent speed, but more importantly has the vision to use it properly.

The other great thing about him, is that he never goes at anything at half pace. He is tough and hit hards.

I would definitely consider drafting him, and would be very interested in getting him early via a trade with GWS. But obviously Richmond have the advantage now, and I could see you getting him for a 4th rounder.

Kid sounds like exactly what we need !

Small defender thats not a midget, also lightning quick that doesnt go half paced with a bit of mongrel about him ......... Sounds a bit like how hardwick played.

I can see this kid in our backline alongside Batchelor,Rance,Grimes

All Kamakazi backmen

Sounds a likely type. How come we're only just hearing about him now? Would've thought if we had an eligible F/S doing very well at a lower level everyone would be all over it. Especially given the hack F/S's we've had :)eek:). I guess our recruiters are.

As people have mentioned could be the player we need. With Dea, Rance, Post?, Batchelor, Grimes and others our backline will still be young next year. Couldn't hurt getting in a well built, more mature aged type that can slot in and do well but still with upside. If he can lock down a small/mid-sized forward and is a decent size he'd be competiting with Dea for that spot. Would be good to have more depth in this area though so no worries. Can cross Farmer off the list for this role anyways. Way too slow.

Someone mentioned earlier in the thread that he'd suffered a knee injury around the time he was eligible for drafting, and has taken some time to recover and regain some good consistent form.

About time we got some use out of the Father Son. Although it's no first rounder it's still handy.

Bulldogs hav had three first rounders in a few years...

More than handy if he can make the grade. We need another half back IMO about his height with dash.

Just hope he can kick etc...

Cross fingers the stars might be starting to align:D

If he is as good as he sounds, he could be the player we need to release Deledio into the midfield.
Lets just wait and see if we even recruit him first...

My thoughts exactly.

Deledio is needed on HB ATM but really is wasted there. Can't wait to see him in the midfield again, and resting up forward.

Now that would be a dangerous forward line.

King Vickery Deledio
Riewoldt Martin Morton???

Imagine if this, the 2 PNG boys and the new irish lad all made it to our senior best 22. What a bonus this would be to our future.

I think only one of the PNG boys is a realistic chance of making it. I also like the sound of Heslin as a prospect. Whether or not they make best 22 or are depth players who knows?
