Its a healthy symptom of a critical mind.

The amount of bullshit in the press these days warrants strong paranoia.
That is without doubt.

I read very little of the main stream papers so I don't get too exposed to it.

What I see as a problem with people is they can get themselves so deep into this sorta stuff they developer a real confirmation bias about things.

That can be a trap too.

Its all about balance.

But when I read you ho we're headed at break neck speed towards WWIII (possibly hyperbole) then I think you're overthinking things a little.
My treatise which questioned whether we (Australia) are on the 'brink of calamity' is backed by over 100 references, the vast majority of which are reputable, mainstream news sources. To date, only one person has found any fault with the information I have provided (an error I quickly corrected), and even that was inconsequential to the conclusion.

There is nothing nutty or loony or even CT about that piece. Extreme? Yes, if you have been slack in keeping yourself up-to-date on what has been happening over the last few years here and abroad. And the vast majority of us are slack, because it is so much easier to 'go with the flow' and have faith that everything will take care of itself - even if this faith flies in the face of history.

We need to understand that our schools do not exist to truly educate us. If they did, people would understand how preferential voting works, how money is created, and what 'liberty' means and why great thinkers of the past have fought and died for it - among myriad other things.

We need to understand that the MSM does not exist to inform us. If it did, people would know that our own RBA had to borrow $50 BILLION from the US Federal Reserve following the Lehman Brothers collapse, and that former ALP Senator Mark Arbib treacherously leaked info to US intel, and that former Liberal minister Alexander Downer used our spy agencies to help Woodside Petroleum secure an advantage in billion-dollar negotiations with East Timor - and now has a job with that company as a 'consultant'.

Sure, these things are reported on, but only barely and with little context or analysis. One needs to do their own research if they to be informed. And having done plenty of this myself, I decided to put up some of my work online. Only some, there is much more to come. In the meantime I invite and encourage you and others to find fault with my work, suggest improvements, and so on. I will benefit from it and so will you.
*Except there is absolutely no way I am abstaining from alcohol coming into the footy season.
It is hard to quit the piss during footy season when the alcohol industry (along with gambling) basically bankrolls the MSM coverage of it. I sheepishly admit to having a few too many at the Docklands on Friday. My only recollections after about half-time include walking all the way to the CBD sporadically shouting 'Sack Brad Scott'.

I don't think anything you're saying is categorically wrong but there's no doubt you've moved more to the extreme side of things.

Like most things the answer lies somewhere in the middle.

At least we know you are not Sooz in disguise.

Sometimes the truth is extreme, brother. And the digger you deep, more outrageous the truth becomes. Seriously, when I first read that our own banks had to borrow from the US Federal Reserve after the LB collapse, I was like 'no way'. So I went and did some digging, and still wasn't convinced. So I went and checked the US Fed's own website, scanned its own excel spreadsheets, and sure enough, there it was in black and white.

Don't think I just woke up one day and thought, 'you know what, I think this country is on a knife-edge'. Far, far from it, as fairdinkum's posts in this thread are testament to. It was only when I went and did some extensive digging that the magnitude of what lay before us became clear to me.

There is no middle ground between fact and fiction, my good man.

don't profess to even know what happened, but flying for a long time after setting a course (among other things) could give enough time for CVR data to overwrite itself, intentionally or otherwise. could be a way of burying anything said in the cockpit if you so chose.

Okay so how did the pilot keep the other pilot, the crew and also 200+ passengers from lynching him had he decided to commit pilot suicide?

The captain could have incapacitated the co-pilot. Then he may have depressurised the aircraft so the passengers and cabin crew lost consciousness. He may have even been unconscious hemself and the plane flew on auto uintil it ran out of fuel.

Even if the cabin crew were aware of a problem in the cockpit they still wouldn't have been able to get past the security door. It's designed to keep people out.

I'm betting when the plane took a sharp turn (over land) that there was some reception... so why did no passenger at all contact a loved one?

The passengers may not have been aware of a problem, or they might have been unconscious, or the plane remianed out of range of mobile phone reception.

Australia announced on Friday morning that it had moved the search area for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 nearly 700 miles to the northeast, the latest in a long series of changes by the authorities on where they think the plane might have disappeared.

Apparently they had underestimated the speed the plane was flying at.

So all of those reports of debris in the previous search area were, quite obviously, bogus.

'Hey everybody, look over here'.

that was a bit hard to understand- so what he was saying in the video was Israel have took the plane by some data base that who knows if it legit or not and its stored it in some hanger.

he is sayn that israel bought an exact plane and its sittn in israel!
so basically if one gets used in a terror attack then dont be surprised if its this one thats sitn in a hanger in israel.
like a false flag event.
not hard to check if the data base is real or not just do some research.

I know its a big area, but this is getting pre tiresome

How the **** have they only realised that the plane was flying faster than it should have been?

Surely they wouldve realised when the plane turned after the air space change over that it was "ahead of its course". This seems like a momumental **** up to not realise

So we (I can say families here to sound like a nice kind soul worried about them but theyre telling us as well) have been told all this info about new debris sightings that are white and bunched together and some colorful but we wont know until we get a ship out there and then "oh actually it might be in a completely different area"

Just cant take anything they say seriously anymore, they really are incompetent

I'm not normally one for conspiracy theories but the way the story keeps changing smells of a smokescreen or cover up.

Every day they come out with some new info or lead which is apparently more significant or credible than the previous days info or lead but nothing ever comes of it. They've apparently been spotting new debris every day for the past week or so but nothing is every recovered or confirmed and now after being certain the plane crashed in the southern Indian Ocean search area they suddenly change the search area to a completely different area further North due to significant new info.

I'm starting to think nothing will ever be found and eventually the search will be called off and media interest will dwindle away to nothing while they hope the public just forgets about it. Most people even now are losing interest as it drags on and on with nothing confirmed.

I think what you mean to say here is "the more outrages and unreliable people you talk to, the wilder the fantasies get"

dont you get tired of always searching for everything to be "outrageous"

who are these people that are so hell bent on doing everything in a way that seems the furthest from practicle and covering it all up but not hell bent enough so to leave just some clues for the internet heroes of the world to discover them

i can just imagine their meetings

"guys i need a billion dollars, we need to kill 50 iranians and blame them for a horrid crime, so I can start producing a new anti-iranian gun that'll solve this new pretend problem"
"why dont you just borrow the billion from Gary?"
"dont be stupid do you have any idea how annoying Gary is to deal with, lets just do it my way"

Exactly my thoughts, you just beat me to it.

I thought they were closing in on something a few days ago but now they've changed the search area they are starting to lose any credibility they had left.

I feel for the relatives in all this being put through what is resembling a wild goose chase.
