I agree with you, very glad to finally get a win on the board. But that's not to say we played well enough that if we weren't playing an injured Carlton side, we would come through with the four points. God am I allowed to say that ? or is it too harsh and critical and I'll get posters jumping down my throat for being so honest ? Let's hope we play brilliant football when tackling the Pies this week and get another four points. Let's HOPE.:)

I agree to some extent but Carlton did apply alot of pressure on us.They laid 50 tackles which is a fair amount. We played a bit wide to I thought. They also were clearly expecting a flood and had to do a bit of a shuffle after the first 15 minutes and had a bit of trouble adapting to bringing the ball forward a bit differently.

You are right that it wasn't the most skilful win. But hopefully now with the win under the belt it will turn them around and they will get a boost in confidence to be able to challenge the more fancied opposition.

What concerned me was our decision making, which was often poor. Too many disposals to players under pressure, when another option was on. Mystifying really. Any comments?
My observation would be that we appear to be reluctant to take the first option. I don't know whether the players have been instructed to hold the ball longer and evaluate what's on offer more or it's simply a confidence thing but we appear to put others under pressure by delaying decision.

Perhaps some of the youngsters are still operating on VFL time - McMahon gets out by this .
