If the story about Gordon getting involved is true, my guess is that greatly increases the chances of Jake staying. Gordon will be inclined to look Beveridge and the rest of the staff in the eye and tell them if they can't land a top 10 pick for Jake, then they'll have to bite the bullet and work through it next year with Stringer. Peter won't want to see the club embarrassed, nor an asset mismanaged and given away for sfa.
Yeah agreed. I said this a few weeks back, say what you will about PG but the man is not going to let this end as a disaster for the club, no way. And we should be thankful for that

Sounds good.. where was that reported?

Can't remember - didn't come from me. I'm not sure it's true (but it sounds just like Gordon.)

Mate all of my families are Doggies supporters and I was happy to cheer them on at the MCG last september, but that poster was just flat out kidding themselves. Personally I hope Stringer stays and flourishes at the Dogs, too much risk for the asking price.
He didn't post it for your amusement, so just piss off. We don't care what you think if you are going to come here and disrespect people on our board.

Don't give a ****. Isn't your place to take pot shots at our posters you campaigner. Get off our board, now.

Mate some of my best mates follow the Bombres.
Now **** off

Mark Robinson on radio tonight continued the media's position that Stringer is not wanted at the Dogs. Even though he recalled his interview with Beveridge which included:

MR: If a suitable trade cannot be found, is it possible for Jake to stay at the club?
LB: Yes

He then went on to "extrapolate" that once it is on the back page, "emotion" gets involved and "it grows" and some other dribble that didn't even make sense. Ergo, the media view that Jake is not wanted is entirely without foundation and in fact contradicts statements made by the club.

Various other knobs on the radio hypothesized that "if" the senior playing group had approached the football department and expressed a view that Jake has to go, he couldn't possible play there next year.

Followed by rinse and repeat of the "emotion" and "it grows" nonsense and more baseless bulldust.

So sick of trade week.

This could be a real disaster now if we back down - Jake hopefully will realise that the Drugcheats dont really think that much of him and that his future lay in hard work and dedication at the WO. PGordon MUST tap the football department on the shoulder and make sure noone flinches - No FIRST ROUNDER MEANS NO DEAL - read our lips!

Would you guys be happy with Geelongs Menzel compo pick (assuming end of first round).
Might be the best offer left on the table.
Personally I hope you keep him and it works out.
Geelong are already on record this week saying we rejected their pick 20 for Stringer. The Motlop pick would be 1 pick higher than that at best, so no.

lol

This thread is a roll-call of success-starved Ess cucks.

Celebrating trade week like it’s the finals. How ******* embarrassing.

There VHS and Beta tapes of their last success have all worn out so they have to celebrate what they can!!
Some idiot on the main thread (which I have been banned from) reckons Dodo can give us lessons on how to pick up good players with picks in the 20’s.
Clearly hasn’t heard of Dalrymple or his divers with Dunkley, Caleb Daniel, Young etc

I think it comes down to the fact that all through the saga we had to let players go for significantly less than they're worth.
So the moment we get one back the other way, it's onnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

Is Stringer Robbo's love child? Quote: "I've met Jake. I like Jake."

Or is Robbo Stringer's manager? Questioning head of players association (who continually said he couldn't comment on individual cases) it was all about Jake, Jake, Jake.

A caller (I think) asked why Stringer couldn't go to Carlton for one of their higher picks. Robbo basically stated that that's not going to happen because a) Stringer doesn't want to go there, and b) Stringer could only survive in a club of mature players who can encourage him to get over his demons. - !!!!! Nice slap on the face for both us and Carlton. Completely ignores the whole corrupt Essendon culture AKA the drug saga.

Talk about abusing your position in the media.

Piss off Robbo and your Essendon cronies. I hope Stringer goes anywhere but you arrogant lot.
