Who wants them though?

Carlton might, but they only have pick 3, theres no way they trade that, would have to be players which is useless, Collingwood are in a similar boat and are holding 6

Brisbane is unlikely as they have 4 1sts, id imagine theyd want a first or players for Schache

GC highly unlikely as mentioned beforehand

Geelong and Hawthorn are highly doubtful due to a lack of currency, rule out GWS and Melb too

Norf, nope, higher chance Stringer goes there himself

Port, doubtful due to the players they are chasing already

Stk, nope 24 and 29 are miles off 7 or 8 and Stk have stated they would rather move up than push down

Freo, nope probably similar to Collingwood and Carlton with 5

Your only chances of getting into the first round are Richmond, Adelaide, Sydney or WCE

yeah i'm not sure. The longer this goes on the more and more i think hes staying at the dogs.

We have either called the dogs bluff or the dogs think they can manage him back in the side, if that's the case than all the media hysteria is BS. There is no way the Dogs would keep him if they didn't think they could work with him, and that's probably got buy in from him too,

Can we merge this with the trade thread now??
Only if we can keep the EFC trolls out of that thread too.

Best to leave it for a few more days, but I agree they have become almost interchangeable.

It's a risk but there are precedents.
Dusty Martin and Ryan O'Keefe are two obvious examples. Nick Stevens was good for Carlton after trying to get from Port to Collingwood too (even if he was a dick of a bloke).

yeah correct however i would liken him more to bennell than those examples.

Either way theres no way the dogs would keep him unless they had his buy in that they can work together. The longer and longer it goes on i think hes staying.

Best to leave it as when we cave in and accept the shit deal we will accept the trolls will be back in force to rub it in

So Watson said we 'prevaricated', which is the same uncommon term that was used in the Nick Bowen article on AFL.com.au.

Looks to me like Tim Watson is reading exactly the same sources as everyone on here is and trying to sound like he knows more about what's going on.

Watson knows sweet FA about anything he just parrots what he hears from other media!

It’s total BS if anyone thinks he would sit out a year. He wouldn’t get paid and his future contract value would plummet!
Jake is pretty dumb but not that dumb!

The Stringer camp was left shellshocked by Essendon’s decision on Thursday morning to trade pick 11 — which the Bulldogs had demanded for Stringer — to secure Devon Smith from Greater Western Sydney.

The Dogs’ determination to work the best deal is both admirable and a sign that the chances of Stringer returning to the kennel are extremely remote.

Stringer has told confidants he would rather sit out a year of football if faced with the reality of having to return to the Whitten Oval, but history says that’s a threat that is rarely followed through.

The mercurial, yet flawed, forward, leaves this week on a holiday to the US.

Just grab him next year when he is OOC. Only problem then is if he gets his shit together it could be a bidding war.

It's not stupidity or being ill-informed, it's just devious journalism. Don't tell out-and-out lies, just dress it up to look like we knocked back pick 11 on its own.

"After they reportedly turned down an offer for Stringer involving pick 11 ..."
"That deal was put to them; they could have taken pick 11 and then shuffled a trade..."

Deliberately no mention at all of pick 27 going the other way (which significantly weakened the value of the offer). Yet if the deal had gone through they would quickly be saying how Dodoro had triumphed and Essendon had "won" the trade because they not only got a young AA with exciting potential but had also got valuable currency in return to help them secure Saad.

It's a shameless attempt to influence the trade market and public opinion for partisan purposes.
Exactly. Forgot about Lyon ..... he loves sticking shit on our club too.

We wouldn't have declined pick 11 for Jake and 26 if we were so desperate to get rid of him.
Obviously we are happy to hold onto him and are confident things can work out.

If a club is so desperate to get rid of him as the media suggests we would have accepted the deal and ran.

Lol told confidents that then leak it to the media

Who writes this utter Sh!t!????

And I think you are a moron

Your point?

Thanks but am I really that wrong, if next year's draft is so much stronger than this year's draft then why wouldn't the Dogs say lets have a first or second round in next year's draft to go along with a second round this year or a player.

The Dogs have up to this stage have failed to find anyone willing to give up an early pick for Jake despite his playing ability being worthy of such.

So we keep him, very simple.

Then the deal won't happen it's pretty simple

A 2nd round pick in this years draft is useless according to most so basicllay valueless

Just the same value we will get if he leaves for squat at the end of next year and ends up at wooden spoon team

You Essendon scum are so desperate to get the deal done now so you can all pay backs and say well done dodo, well if my club folds to your shit I will be monumentally pissed.

You called our bluff and will fail now and he may end up somewhere else which is better than him going to that Sh!t cheating drug den
