I think if Jake’s traded it’s either for Ess first next year or not to Ess. He has a week to find another team.

Carlton (if they trade Gibbs), Saints & Roos would be my guesses as likely suitors.
It's possible. I expect some movement today in prep for next week. Things can change pretty quicly though. say for example, Stringer comes out and speaks, speaks well, suddenly the risk factor is just that little bit less. Or it could go the opposite of course hehe

Unfortunately Jake struggles to speak well.

I agree with all that. There is a reason why the trolls were so active lately. If some clubs see the Dogs as a easy kill at the trade table some of their BF posters see us as a sure thing in the "I'll bite" department. Why some people respond to idiotic or obviously antagonistic posts submitted only to get a response amazes me. If you don't feed them they will die and go away. People encourage them so they keep coming back, sorry but it behoves me to point this out. (I use the traditional spelling not the Americanised "behooves". Personal preference.)
Main board is for that.. been their lately? It's a winner. lol

I had the page up here all day while working and seeing the trolling, or posting of a picture 50 times in a row, or main board trolling memes and so on, Igloo and Mofra and even Doss the Bombers own mod come here and cleaned one particular idiot up.

Norm didn't change the thread name on a whim.
So it’s just a thread about how we should only get a top 10 pick and not tolerate anything else then?

So an Essendon supporter thinks it’s opportunistic in the circumstances to see if they can pull off a low ball deal - makes sense from their perspective doesn’t it?

Who knows they may end up being right if the club accepts it, they maybe wrong if we don’t.

Either way just because it’s perceived to be a low ball - even ridiculous - suggestion, it doesn’t mean the person needs a reaction as if they’ve suggested doing something unpleasant to your loved ones. An obviously antagonistic post is easily ignored and removed in time.

I could write a heap, but No, **** em gets it across faster.

And i hope Stringer is to them what the flu was to the Aztec.

I believe jake is going away on holidays. We wont be hearing from him soon.

Correct. SEN said so yesterday. Even said where he's going but i can't remember now (such is my care factor).

Also to posters calling for club psychologist - there is definitely one. She was in the new movie/doco. Seemed like a well respected part of the team.

Somewhere along the line they mentioned that Murph has spoken to her about injury comeback/retirement - or that might have even have been Murph in his B&F farewell speech.

(Apols for my 'can't remember/not sure fuzz head this morning - horrid nights sleep! )

Normally I wouldn't bite their heads off, but when the thread is clearly labelled saying they're not welcome, and then they post in it, they're disrespecting the wishes of people on this board, and they should be reminded to respect those wishes.

Plus it shits me to tears that when some of their supporters start to lose a debate they resort to "how many premierships have you won" arguments.

What you can't see are the dozens of inane attempts at trolling and attempts to stop BigFooty from loading on phones by posting dozens of copies of the same picture in a single post. It made BigFooty unbearable. I was welcoming Essendon supporters on here before yesterday - there were some great and some good natured, humorous contributions. But that all turned to shit yesterday afternoon.

I applaud the decision to keep this thread just for our own - at least until the Stringer trade is resolved.

I agree but it's a shame because we end up the poorer for having to exclude sensible Essendon posters. It's the lesser of two evils unfortunately.

The mob has a small (minded) victory ... such is social media.

Some of us hoped that there might be late interest in Stringer from another like club like Saints or North but now Stringer cannot be traded to another Victorian club, except for the Bombers.

So he stays or we eat shit from the Bombers.

Do you say he can't be traded because he cannot be contacted to give the ok to his manager or cannot attend talks/medicals in person or some other reason.

The latter.

If I were saints or North, I'd be having a few long chats with Stringer in person before I traded for him.

I think its ridiculous his manager has let him leave. His manager is trying to box us in, or Connors is a dill.

Fair enough you deserve a holiday after a season but **** me you had the whole of September, surely if you're unsure of were you're gonna be heading you don't go away for the second week of trade week ffs. Definitely sounds like a Connors play.

Surely Connors has told Jake that he'll either get him to Essendon, or Jake will have to stay with the Bulldogs. Either way, no point hanging around letting the media harass the crap out of him.

I think this kills any thoughts of another club entering the picture at this late hour. So we cave to Essendon. Essendon pull a rabbit out of a hat and satisfy our demands, or Jake stays. I'm thinking that Jake stays.

WATSON OUTLINES BULLDOGS BIGGEST STRINGER PROBLEM
BY SEN 3 HOURS AGO

Three-time premiership player Tim Watson has questioned how the Western Bulldogs would be feeling, after Essendon traded their coveted first round pick to Greater Western Sydney for Devon Smith.

Out of favour Dog Jake Stringer wants to get to the Bombers, but the Bulldogs have held firm on their stance of wanting an early first round pick in return. However, Essendon’s earliest pick is now number 24, meaning a combination of later selections will have to suffice for Stringer.

After they reportedly turned down an offer for Stringer involving pick 11, Watson has highlighted why the 2016 premiers have backed themselves into a corner.

“The problem for them now is they can’t get that pick, and they can say we want to deal with someone else, but Jake Stringer wants to go to Essendon,” he told SEN Breakfast.

“There has to be a significant shift before they can do a better deal.

“How would the Bulldogs be feeling? That deal was put to them; they could have taken pick 11 and then shuffled a trade. They sit on that, they prevaricate on it, and then it’s whizzed away on them and it ends up at GWS. How would they be feeling about that?

“Would they be feeling filthy on themselves because they didn’t take the deal, or would they be filthy on Essendon because they went and did that 11 pick with somebody else?”

Former Melbourne captain Garry Lyon believes the Bulldogs wasted their chance at acquiring the first rounder.

“It depends if Essendon said, listen, if you don’t move on this in the next couple of days, we need to get going,” he said.

“You snooze you lose, first in best dressed. It is a competitive market. He [Stringer] is almost the most nervous player at the moment.”

Essendon list manager Adrian Dodoro said yesterday that a potential deal for Stringer is “not necessarily” off the table, despite trading pick 11 to the Giants.

“There is a long time to play out in the trade period and we will try fairly hard to get it done,” he said.

“It is trade period and these things take time. Pick 11 is not on the table, pick 11 is now gone. It’ll have to be a combination of other things.

“We have given a strong indication to Jake that we will do our best to get the deal done. There is a fair way to go and we hope we can land him.”

Stringer has played 89 games and kicked 160 goals since being drafted in 2012 with pick number five.
