BTW what was the story with Tivendale? IMO he's one of your best, but I hardly saw him. Is he injured? Or did he also have a really quiet night?

(PS. Not being facetious, just curious!)

Not that I'm aware

just a shocking night all round:(

After a couple of superlative kick-outs where I thought (very very briefly) 'hmm maybe he can add something here for the Hawks afterall' I nominate one S.Cox for the magnificent pass straight down the throat of one M.Voss (something about best player in the competition so somebody told me).

Only trouble is it is hardly sublime to ridiculous. More ridiculous to sublime and then back again to ridiculous. :(

Nick Stone for a couple of very nice little cameos of play and hard attack on the ball to be followed by 'lets play the footy is a wet bar of soap' when 30m on his own a few times is worth consideration too.

Was there another thread? I didn't see one. Sorry.

No probs.

I actually thought it was a little presumptious of the other person (can't remember who) to begin the thread, considering you are the 'Overseer of the Luff".

;)

Keep up the good work - and hopefully no more of this Luff business rubs of on the Hawks eh?!
(Until they meet the Dons again of course!)

Jordan McMahon - missed a sitter up one end, then only minutes later ducked his head and squibbed a contest to hand the Roos the sealer!!
Well said.

Quite the squib that one, and very much in the spirit of this prestigous award.

Other than that, the Entire Dockers squad for their first term effort of missing every single target they could, to combine for the magnificent total of 0.1.

Are you Dunstall_19? You seem just like him (with your capitals obsession, and your hatred for Lance Whitnall)

NO I AM NOT DUNSTALL 19 AND I HAVE NO HATRED FOR BLUBBER GUTS WHITNALL.
ITS JUST THAT HE LOOKS PRETTY ORDINARY OUT HERE PLAYING AFL FOOTY WHEN HE CANT RUN, JUMP OR EVEN GET THE BALL DUE TO THE FACT THAT HE IS STILL OVERWEIGHT
OBVIOUSLY COULDNT STAY OF THE CREAM PUFFS AT THE FAT FARM LAST WEEK.
WHO CARES WHETHER I USE CAPITALS ANYWAY. AS LONG AS YOU CAN READ WHAT I WRITE WHY SHOULD IT MATTER?

That was me!!

Sorry to jump the gun DCFC.. I just thought due to the projected sheer weight of nominations this week we needed to start sorting the abymsal performances out from the merely hopeless asap.

:D
Yes - Luffy would be proud that he has so many proteges after this round.

Rumours that he was seen lurking near the rooms of Richmond, Hawthorn, Carlton, Port & St Kilda have not yet been confirmed though...

a number of Carlton players should have got it. i went to the game (and i barrack fnr neither of the two teams involved). 7 'uncontested' marks dropped at one count for the baggers.

i think it should go to number 37 (i believe) for the blues, who made magnificent position in a one on one contest bodying his player to the front until his opponent was essentially out of the contest. It was at centre half back for the blues. Thus it became an uncontested mark, only he dropped it, half tripped up, and his opponent picked it up and banged it through from 40 metres. awful stuff.

Not no.37 - that's Trent Hotton. The player you are thinking of is Simon Wiggins. I agree with what you wrote, the position he made was excellent, but he has to take the mark and stay on his feet! He'll be a good player one day though.

Actually it is very annoying to read. But I can't do much about it.

Whitnall was actually one of our best on Saturday. It wasn't his fault that we got done so badly, though he could have kicked straighter.

Jordon McMahon for mine. Played quite well until.......

Very Luff like.

Just to support Blues 2001, I thought Whitnall was better than anyone else in a Blue Jumper outisde of McKay in terms of effort at least.

Let me get this right.....the Luff is when you are playing quite well until you do something just ridiculous/terrible/bewildering? It's not for having a generally shocking game(especially relative to ability)?

If that's the case then it ain't Matty Allan - he was shocking from start to finish. I will nominate Wiggins instead, adey115 described the incident well.

A quick refresher for those who came in late. The Luffy is like the Rising Star award - someone gets nominated each week for the award, and a panel of esteemed judges selects the winner out of the 22 nominations at the end of the year.

The Luffy goes to the most brain-exploding, maddeningly inconsistent performer of the week - someone who goes from the sublime to the ridiculous, often in the space of seconds.

Ladies and gentlemen, your suggestions for Round 2 please.

Hawthorn

Joel Bowden, for not having the guts (again) to get in the way of a Matty Lloyd lead in the opening minutes of the game.

And as an added reason, for getting a stackload of possesions in the second half when the game was all over.
