He’s a good player now but wouldn’t get anywhere near the AA squad still.

He’s only a 3rd year player.

Fair way away from commanding 800+ k

Keeps improving and he would be ready for that big daddy contract in 2-3 years at age 24-25

I don't know if I posted it here or another thread but I wouldn't be putting Rowell in that elite category yet. Next year hopefully he takes that step, but based off this season, he isn't near it currently.

If you had to project our highest paid players it would certainly include King, Rowell, Anderson, Hollands, Miller in the elite bracket Hopefully all 800k

Think mac Andrew has the the potential to be also. Bit early to say but his height x athleticism x skill set is ridiculous.

Anderson and Rowell were speaking to Nick Riewoldt a few weeks ago and pressed them twice to give an indication on if they would stay on after next year. Neither answered the question and deflected. Just another year of frustration and anxiety waiting for players to sign and the media circus that inevitably follows.

Not entirely true, both of them said they are enjoying their footy up on the Gold Coast. Both of them also said they love living up on the Gold Coast. Both of them said they were happy with the club and the direction we are heading in and that they are committed to bringing success to the Gold Coast. I think they both realise how rare of an opportunity they both have playing on the same AFL team as your best mate. I doubt they’d want to give that up. They said their contracts will take care of themselves so we just need to trust that that’s what will happen.

Id be happy to offer Anderson 650-700k a season. Even happy to go more if needed. Kid is a superstar. His kicking has improved in the back half of the season, he is catching up to Touk level work rates, increased his goal kicking. Bonafide A grader in the making.

Rowell is getting 600k for 4.

Will never happen but it would make these conversations so much more interesting if wages were public, however, can understand the heavy reluctance to this.
