He has been at the club since 2021 hasn't he? On a part time basis anyway
Correct. Kurt Tippett was an assistant coach for us in 2021 and he helped in the tall forwards/ruck department. Dewy randomly ran into him in 2021 because they live near each other on the GC and Stewy convinced Tippo to get involved with us. I know some may still be a little bit about him not joining us 10 years ago but perhaps this is his way of giving back to us in a non-playing capacity?

For anyone who doesn't know, Kurt's father (Tony) is actually a long time Director at the Robina Group so it's the type of position that seems to run in the family. I have a feeling Kurt will be a better board member than he was an assistant coach. Always nice to have actual football people on the board to give other board members real life perspective on the challenges within the four walls. Also great to see us promoting a local boy who is most likely passionate about growing the game in the community he grew up in.

We'd have to come up with an alias for him but I could have him Nationals ready by 2024.

But yeah, Absolutely spewing he's not on that team.

Leading the league in intercept marks by about 5. Absolute pisstake! Take a hike Juckley.

Soon to be Suns academy member Kai Rischitelli will be attending the QClash at the Gabba tonight and I'm fairly sure they are going to roll out the red carpet for the Rischitelli family. It seems like Brisbane are trying to get in early in an attempt to give themselves a chance to convince Kai that he should choose Brisbane over us when the time comes to decide which father-son option he pursues in seven years from now. Although Michael and the family are currently based in Burleigh (according to that article) don't be surprised if the Lions offer him a position up there in a few years from now. Born and raised on the Gold Coast as well as being a Suns fan his whole life, we know where Kai's heart truly lies...

We’ll I don’t think we really know.

We can sure hope. Small investment from Brisbane for potential big future gain.

Brisbane get shit done, Daniher, Cameron, Neale, Dunkley, Ashcroft. I wouldn’t bet against them

“Hardwick’s resignation could set off a chain of events around the country, with Stuart Dew’s position at Gold Coast not secure despite holding a contract for 2024”.

Interesting times.

He’s citing burnout the factor for stepping away. Not sure coming up to the suns is something he would want to do.
You could theoretically give him 6 months off until pre-season training comes back. Also being out of Melbourne would probably mean media scrutiny and facing up to questions like in Melbourne.

Obviously pipe dream stuff, but quitting half way through the year is a weird time to pull the pin.

Very true. Didn’t realise it’s effective immediately

It puts pressure on dew big time !!
Last time Dew had the heat really turned up on him he delivered 5 wins in 6 games in the middle of last season to get us back to 7 wins 6 losses and reignite our season. Maybe Dimma/Clarko being available is the exact type of pressure Dew needs to deliver during this important upcoming 4 game stretch against the Dogs, Crows, Blues and Hawks. We probably need at least 3 wins in our next 4 to get ourselves to secure a 7 win 7 loss ledger going into the Collingwood game at Heritage. That gives us a genuine shot at finals but anything less will probably not be enough unless we can pull off several upsets against teams like Collingwood, Port Adelaide or Brisbane.

Dew doesn't have a whole lot of wiggle room right now.

I just don't get this
What possesses people to
A say it
B think that using someones skin colour or race as abuse is actually-abuse?
Surely in 2023 they must know it's only reflecting on them and their character
Not like Lions don’t have any darker skinned players Coleman and AhChee to make a few…

Some people make some interesting choices.

Got to say, Mac is putting on a bit of muscle.
Don’t think he’ll ever be a Majak Daw, but seems like he will be able to gain mass. Keeping eating young fella!
