No. His body is cooked he wouldn't of played more than 10 games.
Potentially only needed him to play 3-4 games to make a difference and play finals. Who knows what would have happened though. Maybe Touk doesn't get hurt in round 6 and ends up playing the whole season because he may have never been in that position if Hannebery had been out there. We'll never know. That's the point of a sliding doors moment.

I’m with Superanus on this …. Bullet well dodged as he was cooked
I think we dodged a bullet for sure. Hannebery was clearly cooked and probably had half a season left in him at best. I was just contemplating what could have happened had he agreed to join at the end of 2022.

Good news about Ben king

When I saw the 'good news' I hoped for Ben's knee is ready to go and he will play round 1 :) Also I would like him to commit long-term like Anderson, Miler, Luko, Humprey. All those 2 years extensions start to annoy me. He better start tackling and putting more pressure on oppositions. Or it will be Jed Walter all the way for me, haha.

But yeah, still good news although basically recycling his interview on 3AW a week ago.

King, Luko and Walter all locked in until at least 2026. Add in a high quality small forward later this year and we could legitimately have the best forward line in the league in the near future.
Not sure we will go after small forward with having now Rogers and Lombard next year on the list. Ainsworth will also play more forward under Dimma (as per interview). I did not give up on Rosas yet.

I'd be in favour of the high quality small forward coming from our current list, but as of right now we don't have one and it's an area we'll need to address if Ainsworth, Rosas, Rogers or Lombard don't become that player. There's some serious speed and elusiveness in those listed players but I don't think any are known as prolific goalkickers right now. Essentially we need at least one of them to become our version of Charlie Cameron, otherwise we'll need to recruit a player like Charlie Cameron from another club.

I would say with a new plan hopefully resulting in more efficient deliveries, more pressure inside 50, causing more turnovers we should score more.

As for Ainsworth, he spent a lot of time on the wing, still his average was 1 goal per game, Rosas has actually the same average.

For sure, let's see how the season pans out but if Ainsworth spends most time forward, I could see him scoring 30+ goals. Luko is primed to score 40-50+, healthy King 50+, we got Humphrey and other midfielders resting forward.

We don't want to get an expensive top small forward (could we get one?) only for Rogers, Lombard not to play.

Personally, I would rather explore wings in the off-season. But yeah, someone like Bolton would be handy. BTW, let's not forget we will get Martin, haha. And why not to add Baker too to shore up our rebound :)

Max Holmes and Josh Weddle OOC. Doubt either move, but might be worth kicking the tyres.

I'm bullish on our ability to recruit players once we start playing finals, but if our prolific goalscoring small forward for a few years has to be Dusty in his twilight years then so be it. The guy would be an absolute nightmare for any defender to match up on as you know he could just turn it on at any point. Not a good long term option (obviously) but could be enough to get the job done. I'd like to think we would have come up with a good small forward succession plan by the time a hypothetical stint at the Suns comes to an end for Dusty.

A Papley or Kozzie and those 2 kids at the crows and Charlie Cameron can all win a game off there own little boot
Can’t say that for any of our mosquito fleet

Isaak Rankine would be a good fit - oh, wait! End of 24 he might be looking fondly back at the GC - or he might stay back in Adelaide. He'd be handy right about now - deficient in that forward spot.

Haven’t listened, but Jimmy Tsitas is low-key my best bet pick for surprise Round 0 inclusion.
The bloke has been a constant in pre-season content and interviews and talked up by the coaches.
Can see him being a Dimma forward line favourite with his training standards and non-stop intensity.

not advocating for this in anyway, just speculating

I had this thought around Tom Berry, but Tsitas might be that player.
