Attention - 🐻 has spoken.

Bailey Humphrey blushes at the comparison but won't shirk the task after new coach Damien Hardwick afforded him a Dustin Martin-type licence at the Suns.
"Go out and play to my strengths; hunt the ball, go up the ground, play deeper, go through stoppages for my midfield minutes," Humphrey told AAP of Hardwick's assignment.
"It's a similar role to Dusty. I'm not anywhere near the player he is, but hopefully I can play to a high standard (Hardwick's) happy with.
"It don't reckon it's hype; he has a fair bit of confidence in me which is good. I'll take that every day of the week.
"Coming in, you don't know what you're going to get; new coach, don't know if he's going to like you.
"But he seems to like me a fair bit."

"We've shown it in patches the last couple of years," Humphrey said.
"This year we want to show it consistently, and finals at the end of the year - we're hoping for that.
"We're a big running team, we'll play with high energy and really fast, it's going to be good."

Half the people on here will still blame Dew if we under perform again this year :shoutyoldman:
Imagine if Dew had pulled Sexton on a starting half back flank with Tsitas and Macpherson as starting small forwards over Rosas.

They would’ve had to shut this place down (I admit I would be part of the blame).

I swear we better go 23-0 or we have failed this season.
That's the sort of thing Dew should have done but was never brave enough to try a new move or new position. Rosas has never been under as much pressure as he will be this year to perform or end up a good VFL player. Sexton's last gasp as well as a defender if Dimma goes that way. At least we have a coach prepared to experiment with players and moves.

Constable at half back and dmac in defence about his only positional changes, and late on Jeffery down back which should have been done earlier. Constable was bound to fail but actually thought dmac had a decent year. Luko half back/ wing another one but that was more a development role. Sexton may not make it at half back but there's nothing to lose at this point, at worst he ends up back in a forward pocket in the reserves where he will always do well.

Secco has played wing, tagger and HB before I believe.

Really good yarn with David Swallow

I just have so much respect for this man. His commitment never wavered for a moment. Love how he talks about his vision for the club.

Really enjoying the Rat series of interviews and look forward to many more. Just great to listen to the guys in a relaxed setting talking about footy and life in general.

DAMIEN Hardwick began coaching Gold Coast thinking he had 80 per cent of a premiership list at his disposal.

Now just six months after taking the job, he thinks that's closer to 100 per cent.

I think the coach has gone a little hard on the medicinal cannabis
