I like how Nintendo used a variable resolution in this game so it always maintains 60 fps. It's nice that at least one developer realises how important framerates are. This game runs silky smooth and it wouldn't feel right if it we're stuck at 30 fps.

Uhhhh.... Nintendo aren't exactly known for good performance *coughBotWcough* :D

But yeah, certainly is nice they did a good job with this one.

BOTW was an open world Wii U game designed to run in 720p. It runs fairly well in handheld mode with most of the framerate issues being seen in docked mode when the game is being forced to run at 900p. It's probably not fair to single out this one game as a general rule.

Nintendo generally target 60 fps if they can. If they can't reach that, it's likely just a result of using lower cost hardware. They've long given up on fighting a technological arms race with Sony and Microsoft. The last time we had a Nintendo console which was on par with it's competitors was the Gamecube and it sold like shit. They won't go down that path again.

Oh you, mickelboy. Keep fighting the good fight mate.

1 game with an inconsistent frame rate out of about 450 Nintendo made console games. They really should lift their game lol.

Why do you keep acting like I'm some kind of a Nintendo hater? Don't know how many times I've said it's my console of choice... The SNES to this day is my favourite of all time. Doesn't stop me from poking fun at some of their missteps. :\

Because I have noticed a consistent theme in your posts.

Loving every minute of it. Ready to approach New Donk City last night and I've saved it for later.
how good is it! Every, single, minute: is just pure fun. So good. I have finished New Donk and also the next one (snow kingdom) and am on to the beach kingdom. It's like a little holiday. Gargh I love the game, I love the switch, I just love it all. Can't wait to kick off on Zelda soon

I'm a consistently critical thinker erring on the side of pessimism, got nothing to do with Nintendo... Way too much hyperbole in gaming these days, so much so that any slight criticism or negativity gets torched by the fanboys ie Jim Sterling being crucified over his BotW review.*

I am system agnostic. As in, I go where the good games are. I’m not stupid enough to be a fanboy of any one system and yet, I have noticed you consistently shitting on Nintendo things in Nintendo threads and most of the time where it is not warranted (complaining about a game you hadn’t bought yet, for example).

After years of gaming and internet use, I can spot your type from a mile away. You keep digging the boot in over and over again with the remarks and if someone calls you out on it, you use the “but I play Nintendo” and then throw the “you must be a fanboy” insult out.

There’s only one person displaying fanboy tendencies here and it’s not me.

When I see you consistently shitting in Playstation and/or Xbox threads, I may change my view. It is what it is.

My remark on the motion controls was cited from several reviews and proved to be correct (not to mention I purchased the game 2 days later).

I don't post much about the PS4 or XBox because *shockhorror* I don't own an XBox or play the PS4 much at all.

As far as system agnostic, I typically tend to own all the major consoles before the end of their run.

Not to mention there are plenty of people on this board that could vouch for me shitting on Sony xD. You're way off base.

Ok. I hope I am wrong, for your sake. Because there is nothing sadder than people disliking a game or a system because of fanboyism.

If you think Sterling is a Nintendo fanboy you clearly haven't been watching him. He routinely trashes all the major publishers, Nintendo included. To give you some examples he gave BOTW a 7/10 over complaints about the way weapons break and also made a video about how he thinks it's morally okay to pirate Nintendo's videogames. You are talking about a guy who has made a career out of trashing developers for all manner of reasons and you choose to call him a fanboy and then tell us about your critical thinking skills. Lmao.

You obviously haven't been on the board long.Wouldnt take his posts too seriously, just skip.

Hah, you missed that one. Was referring to the insane backlash he received for his BotW review.

I agree. All of my criticisms are based in reality. Nothing I have said has been baseless. Unfortunately merit is often overlooked if it's something negative, just human nature.

I didn't miss anything. It reads like you are calling Jim a fanboy. Maybe read the shit you type before posting.

I can see the phrasing isn't clear cut but I think it's pretty easy to discern that I was using Jim Sterling being torched by fanboys as an example... I'll try and make it more straightforward next time.

I don't get the hype for coloured controllers. I can see it being handy if you have two kids and want to be able to tell the two Switch's apart but aside from that, I prefer sticking with grey or black. I like all my gaming/PC stuff to match.

Didn't like the neon or grey ones. I thought they would be good for reselling. Nerds get super wet over special edition shit.

Though they kinda look nice with the case that I'm currently rocking.

New Donk has a section which is probably up there with the greatest mario moments. Loved it.
