Saying Gray is a keeper is very ambitious

actually no, I disagree. Ive had an eye on the lad since he 1st started I had him in my original squad last year and watched him do a perfect job for me.

There is no doubt room for improvement, age is what 22 I think ??
Plays taller than what opposing clubs think and has football smarts, often gets 3rd backman due to his hight but is too slick for them (just hard to match up I guess)
Definitely one of the more consistent forwards again this year, I expect him to play minimum 19 games @ 90+ average.

however I dont have him in pencilled in my 2010 squad thus so far. long long time before its settled though.

gl everyone for the 2010 season looking forward to it.

I'd rather google image search abortions than have another glance at that forward line

thanks soo much but dose it make up for the fwd line or shoud i down grade?
the fact is that the fwds run hot and cold so are soft upgrads well thats what i think. shoud i have a rethink?

Inside word you'd care to share or just a hunch?

Edit:
Just checked on FanFooty, looks like Monty's been given the inside word. Back to the drawing board ...

OK everyone go re-do your plan teams ... a lot of positional changes.

Andrew Walker = mid only
Deledio = mid only
Trengove = mid only

Not much left in the forwards ...

I think you are missing out on some obvious rookie cash cows by having an all-premium midfield from the start. Have another go with at least 1 rookie in the mids and spend the money in your forwards.

You are right to not spend too big in the forwards from the start but I think you are taking it to an extreme!

SC IMO is a Guns/Rookiesstructure game.......

Having said that IMO the FWDs are looking thin for rookie talent. Only the NAB cup will shed some light on guys getting a gig from RND#1 but you have to understand that very few guys who were drafted this year will get a run in the 1st game.

Identify where the value is positional wise and adjust accordingly. Personally before the NAB cup I really cant see much value in the FWDS so i'll probably look at allocating a fair chunk of my salary cap their.

Plenty of value in the midfield around the mid price range, however for me that makes thing difficult as I like going in with 4 premium mids and 2 rookies. Just something that makes me feel safe i guess...LOL.

Anyways....TBH yr midfield is way 2 strong and you really need to shift some coin into the fwd line.

Be careful with the FWD guys you have picked to date as between suspension and injury you could possibly not have 1 fwd playing come round 4.....very risky. Look at durability, it;s worth it's weight in gold and dont get sucked in by discounts.....VS do it for a reason, at least with some guys. You really need to identify the Higgins/HMac/Hurns for 2010 which isnt easy.

Watch Goddard.....he is an absolute GUN but is still strugglling with his shoulder and it is alot of money to tie up on a player who has had a poor pre-season.....ALA Hodge.

IMO, at this stage just identify a list of potential players that you a re keen on and watch the pre-season cup........There's no point posting a team really until after NAB cup, but good luck.

And no inside info, just check out the DT board for positional changes as the prospectus is out and on its way.:thumbsu:

My team has just taken a turn for the worst.

Cunnington and Trengrove losing their forward status is going to force a complete restructure.

(Log in to remove this ad.)

But this is going to be the first time I dont have Deledio ever since he was drafted!

Come on Herald Sun! Make him a forward so his incredible run as a feature in my team can continue!! :thumbsu:

Quick thoughts on the team, tried to boost forward line seeing as how there is limited rookie options, thus only going three prems in the midfield.

Picked rookies based on there teams, hoping they should slot in nicely and play most games barring injury tho this could all change come nab cup time.

Any thoughts?

Thunder and Dopeh looks good.

Agree with Deledio, it will be my first team without him.

Vic posters tend to ignore WCE, and I've only had Cox and Hurn last year myself.

This year Hurn looks expensive and Cox has to mix it with NicNat after a troubled pre-season. So I'm thinking Sandilands as a lock and maybe Vickery as back up.

Some bargains are there, although risky.

Masten: Great talent and his year to shine
Kerr: Cheap for the talent and ripping the track in preseason. Risk-temper and suspension. He won't be tagged as much though with Priddis, Masten, Swift, Ebert, Selwood etc, around.
Shuey: Injury and family death keeps him as a rookie. Great value.
Notte: Skinny runt that is a natural FF. Cheap bet for a third year player.

Dockers will probably not do any good again so expect Morrabito to get a run. Ballantyne...maybe a bench player for home games.

Pretty close I reckon Dopeth, IMO i would downgrade a FWD slightly and put some money in to another Mid.... I Love the risk but gee, just a little gun ho. Great set up though and perfect SC wise

I have around 100k left, so am considering dropping Harvey down to a mid ranged player and upgrading a mid to Vince, just unsure of a decent mid ranged forward.

I can only really comment on the crows players with authority, so here goes:

Phil Davis - 50/50, he could go either way. Watch the NAB for Phil. Basically, Craigy has said he's tossing up between Phil and Scott Stevens for the third tall defender roll. Wait and see prospect.

Pat Dangerfield - I implore you all to take Pat. Had limited game time last year due to fitness base. Will improve scores by 30-40% this year. Must have.

Rory Sloane - Looks like he will play from round 1. Will be cheap and will play. Bench option.

Taylor Walker - Will play 22. Will kick 50+ goals. Will improve on last years average by 50%. Will be up and down though. Pick him and hold the faith.

Shaun McKernan - Huge wraps but, as a big guy, may not score well enough to be considered.

Most other crows aren't worth considering.

Thanks for the intel pext.

Agree with Dangerfield and Walker. Both should be looking to improve on last year. Danger in particular is on the verge of breaking out and hopefully it's this year.;)

Don't know much about Sloane or Davis, any further info you have would be cool:cool:.

Alot of ppl seem to think Mackay has a good chance of taking his game up a level in 2010. D'you agree he's worth considering as a mid-priced improver?

Hey guys..

Second year at this caper, burned trades early last year and really couldn't do much towards the end of the year, finished about 8,000.

Just wondering what you think of my current team which is bound to change another 100 times before round 1.
