Survivor 28: Cagayan (Brawn, Brains, Beauty) [No Spoilers]

After a successful season of having former players compete with/against their loved ones on Blood vs. Water, Survivor will try another brand new concept when Survivor: Cagayan premieres with a two-hour episode on Feb. 26 at 8pm on CBS. This time, 18 contestants will be separated into three tribes: brawn, brains, and beauty. And while all of those contestants will be new players — marking only the third such all-newbie season in the past nine installments — one of the names may be familiar: former NBA All-Star (and recent visitor to North Korea as part of Dennis Rodman’s basketball troupe) Cliff Robinson.

The cast has been revealed and more details will slowly start coming out weekly for this next season of our favourite reality show.

As usual, this thread will have a rule in place of having no spoilers discussed until the episode has aired on Channel 9, which I assume will show this the day of the US episode like last season. Be careful with previews of the show too, as in S27 it was previewed that they were going to draw rocks before the episode aired.

Why I'll Be Sole Survivor: Dedicated 2,000 hours in preparing for the strategic, social, and physical elements of Survivor. Did everything from 50 hours of yoga, to over-analyzing every episode, to mastering slide puzzles to ready myself. I essentially devoted my entire life to preparing for this adventure for the previous six months.

Three tribes is hopefully good, it'd what made Philippines great. The twist is meh, but there'll be a tribe swap before too long.

I don't get it, the beauty tribe isn't that good looking, and the brawn tribe aren't that big/strong except for the former basketballer.

Some initial thoughts watching the 'meet x' videos:

- LJ could be very strong, seems very level headed
- Lots of talk from Morgan, Alexis, J'tia and Jefra about being cut throat, making big moves and not flirting their way to the top. Let's see if they actually follow through with that
- Spencer could be great if he lasts a few episodes. Potentially Cochran with social skills
- Lindsey could be fun
- Jeremiah has the potential to go very far if he has the strategic game to back up his personality
- Can see Woo getting blindsided
- Kass could be first voted off
- David is fun
- Brice is funny

Never watched Survivor before but might have to have a look to see how Miami Marlins' president Dave Samson goes. He is a regular on sports talk radio SEN giving his entertaining film reviews.

Jefra reminds me of Tina. If I wasn't a viewer of Survivor and was shown Jefra and Tina and told they were mother and daughter I would believe it. Might just be the accent.

One World is indisputably one of the shittest seasons of all time. And the three that followed were all very good.
