I’m not sure about the need for the fire challenge thing however that was tense, the closest finish I can recall. Even with the enlisted help of Rachel etc and that large flame she had going, Teeny still couldn’t get it done. Somehow Sam pulled it off.

You can sum up Teeny's entire game in 1 second.

When she had the flame halfway up to the string, Sam had nothing, then all of a sudden she freaks out and looks at Rachel and asks desperately "What do I do?!"

Just a perfect analogy of her game.

I thought the same. Any microscopically insignificantly small chance she held of winning the thing was completely snuffed with that comment.

She would have to go down as one of the worst, most oblivious players to somehow make it to final 4. Just zero awareness of anything going on, ever.
She literally admits her whole thing about Sam being popular in the classroom or whatever was just her projecting her insecurities onto someone who's done nothing wrong. It was an impressive level of self awareness for anyone, let alone the youngest person out there.

Teeny wasn't a great player but saying she's one of the worst ever is a ridiculous statement.

Went to see Ben Katzman's band in a little bar in Brooklyn last night.
Great show and Ben is a really chill guy, great value. He rocks hard, and most of his songs were inspired by his time on the island.
Several Survivor alumni there, most notably the Dragonslayer and Charlie, along with probably half a dozen other ex players....as well as a handful from the next season.
A great laugh to meet the Dragonslayer....i asked him whatever happened to the assistant coach he brought to the family reward, and he said he's now coaching in England! lol
Kelly Nalbandian was there, and told me that she can't stand King George of Bankstown. Tipped Parvati to wipe the floor with him.
All in all was a lot of fun and meeting some of the people we've watched over the years was an unexpected surprise.
Oh, and they all said nice things about Probst, and also those who hadn't seen it wanted to know about Australian Survivor, and what JLP was like as a host.
My son was with me, he's a big Survivor fan, and he was absolutely stoked!

Any thoughts on Season 48 contestants?

And did you get any goss on Season 50?

I don’t get it
He reads everyone from Sierra back to Jon in the opposite order to how they went out (Sierra and Tiyana were still in the game at that point), then reads Rachel through to Sol in the order they end up finishing (Caroline's off by a spot).

The fire challenge may be a terrible game mechanic but at least it's also boring television. The ten minutes watching people fail to build fire at camp beforehand is always a lowlight.

It is not a great game mechanic but that fire challenge was anything but boring television. Would be in a small minority if you sat there bored the whole time I reckon

Definitely had an exciting ending, but I'd argue the 15-20 mins from the end of the immunity challenge through the start of the fire challenge was as boring as it gets, and is almost every season.

I typically hate it but actually didn't mind this one as Sam is a pretty good narrator and the actual challenge had the result it needed for all that pre fire stuff to work as a whole

Great to see Coach out there pre gaming with the new era for Season 50

Is he getting a call up for 50?

Truth be told I fast forwarded anything that had them babbling on.

I watched the start, the challenge, 5 minutes after the challenge, fire making, tribal and Season 48 preview

It was predictable enough let alone another Teenie talking to camera babble on

She had no luck with rope this episode. First in the challenge when she couldn't chop through it and then in the fire making. I must admit that I was cheering for Sam when he finally got a flame! I was hoping we would get a closer vote with him in the final tribal council.

This gets said every season! It is crazy how many don't know how to make fire. At least practice during the season.

But there’s Idols to be found…

I would imagine getting the exact fuel might be a challenge as would your abode. If you live in NYC it might be a challenge for instance, but from what I saw anything practically goes on those streets, just don’t block an intersection

I wondered that too, I thought it was perhaps mind games from Sam. Surely they at least get themselves familiar with the basics in preparation to come play the game? Or even their time out during in camp.

There was a guy in recent seasons who I recall 3D printed a lot of the common puzzles and challenges etc, to practice them. That was next level stuff.
