It’s difficult to judge off so little game time but I am still concerned about Gus. I hope I’m wrong but he just looks like a good reserve player. I have similar long-term worried about Corey.
Clearly not a popular opinion and he's still very new to the team but I'm feeling the same way about Hanily so far. He tries hard but he hasn't been having much of an influence.

For a small contingent, I must say our WA supporters are noisy little bunch of f**kers aren't they? Good job crew.
This!!

Cheers everyone that was there representing. We saw you. Thank you! Enjoy the win!!

Heeney today was still ****en pivotal , almost gave him a vote , probably mark him too hard.
His fumble in the middle cost a goal and his decision to kick to a contest with Ladhams where the loose ball lead to a goal were pivotal moments but then he played like a star as well getting involved in very important moments. But pretty good signs of his best were in there and it seems he’s about to really get going.

We've found a ripper in Bice. If we can free up Blakey some more, having those 2 and Roberts distributing from the backline is going to be huge for us.

It also gives us options if Blakey is having an off day (singling him out because his best is the best of the 3 but his worst can be awful) or needs to play a more defensive role.

People saying Grundy had a poor game are just salt s**ts that need a slap in the face. 38 RC for Grundy compared to 30 for Ladhams and Grundy had 16 more HOs and 9 more hit outs to advantage.

Grundy was getting us a HOTA every 3.45 ruck contests whereas Ladhams was around the every 15 ruck contests.

Lets even account for clearance differential between Grundy and Ladhams, its still 3.45 compared to 6 (surprised Grundy didn't have a clearance tbh).

Grundy has shown time and again he is the #1 ruck

The not 15 call on Chad's kick backwards at the death was disgraceful. Both umpires threw their arms up the instant it left his boot.

It’s the most obvious rule that’s been given direction to pay this season when in doubt and I’m sure we’ve been discussed as one of the clubs to watch for short kicks as we were the only team being called out in the first game. It’s been incredibly inconsistent though.

One club shouldn’t be singled out

Every year they go overboard with one rule that tends to then settle back to normal after 6 rounds.

Am i imagining things or was there a coach that publicly said we trend a fine line with the short kicks?

Did Francis play in the GF?

He shouldn’t have played when he did and we stupidly tried to turn Hamling into a forward got to love Horse and his play everyone in every other position than the one they were drafted! Not sure he makes our GF side but who on earth knows when he isn’t even given a chance where he should have been (in defence)

Can’t really see what we are trying to do atm. I think the players tried really hard today but little to no structure is evident.
1.Bice was very exciting.
2. Grundy is cooked, maybe it’s time for a look at Green? Or just stick with Ladhams?
3. The fumbles and lack of confidence is pretty evident but that can change pretty quick.

Gus was shithouse.
Basically jogged between contests.
There were times he could close on a opponent and he just. Fkking jogged

Was one good kick from him that was a positive him lowering his eyes. The issue is the other 3-4 were complete clangers

Green is AT LEAST a year away and that’s on a best case scenario.

Fumbles just show a lack of confidence hopefully a win helps there and North r4 then we can be 2-2

Thought he had a few glaring errors.

Yeah thought he did some good things but then comically turned it over (wasn’t alone there). Was a sort of half okay performance from Rowy who did tackle all day long but needs to clean up the disposals or lower the eyes and find a runner who uses it well

You can apply that to a LOT of our players today, some of the turnovers we produced did my head in today in perfect conditions

McCartin should never be moved forward

Ever again
I'm OK if we need to win a close game. If we reach a point where defending can't get us the win we should move our best swingman forward, ie, when the swing can help get us a win but at the risk of a slightly worse loss.

Cox was a teammate of the notorious Eagles swingman Adam Hunter (RIP), so he knows the value of a defender who can swing forward when the game needs to be won. Worsfold swung Hunter forward to win many close games against us. His two goals late got WC over us in the '05 QF. Luckily his two against us in the '05 GF weren't quite enough and we hung on by four points. But in the '06 GF, Hunter again swung forward late and kicked the decider to beat us by one point.
