Roberts was great all day. Well deserved win against a tough opponent in Perth. Team effort.
Could not disagree with this more. Felt he was constantly found out of position, lacked composure when the heat was on and missed a number of tackles.

He makes a very interesting selection call re Ladhams and Grundy once McDonald is back.

Will be interesting, Amartey does some lazy shit not sold he should play ahead of mclean

He must stay. Wicks a winning move makes two. Hamling the third.
Suddenly our depth is built when Harry comes back along with Melican.
It make positions further up the ground up for grabs so players like Florent, Hayward Lloyd ( good today) have to fight for 2 spots.
This is what you want to see with injuries and players out. Players taking the opportunity given to them.
Shocked it took us this long to give Hamling a game. Wicks has been a brilliant move. Iceman!

His defence leaves a lot to be desired often .

I might be in the minority but that was a brilliant win considering our injuries & form. Had a few other players step up today.
When I circle back to analysis I always chat to a neutral or two.
Their thoughts were the swans should have won by 30.

Blew some absolutely prime looks at times.

Using today's team, if you assume all of Gulden, Mills, McDonald, Melican and McInernay were ready and come back in - then if you also add your other suggestions of Cunningham, Adams and Cleary - who do you think are the eight players that make way??
Obvious outs when all fit are Hannily, Corey Warner, Gus, and one of the rucks. Probably Grundy on form. I think I may need to finally change my avatar too with Ramps getting close to the end.

It’s difficult to judge off so little game time but I am still concerned about Gus. I hope I’m wrong but he just looks like a good reserve player. I have similar long-term worried about Corey.
I’d put Corey ahead of Gus in terms of form to date. My concern with Corey is that he is near his ceiling and it is just short of good enough.

With Sheldrick, it feels like he is unfinished and a fair bit short of the standard required. I have hope but not confidence he will make it.

Not a game I'd watch again .

At times during it I would have shipped Amartey off and even Mclean .

But they combined for 4 in the end which is solid .

Mclean didn't take enough marks but did a lot of other stuff, Amartey clunked a fewZ

Hayward wasted so much of it but he does work hard, Papley better but still not very good without the ball- these two need to give us more.

Grundy improved in the 3rd but yeah Ladhams was crucial in the finish - good coaching

Hayward plays such an important role for us so when he is down like he has been it hurts. Like a few, he seems to be nervous.

Misses got to him, didn't want that third shot

Some have been very critical of Cox but I actually love what he has done.
yes some of the positional changes and new players have been forced by injury, however he seems willing to test and adapt to what looks best for the week but also trial out new players
Campbell - mid-forward looks much better
Wicks - brilliant move
Hamling - ✔️
Bice - back him in
Ladhams - give him another chance
McCartin - adapted selection to availability
Florent - not working so moves him out of defence
JJ - full time mid
Cox is going to use this first half of the year to assess what the best 22 looks like.
due to to the above assuming full fitness - looks like we’ll have Florent, Gulden, Mcinerney and Lloyd across the wings. Will be some interesting selection choices ahead.

Would need to see a replay to see it on screen to confirm, but it looked like Papley was actually doing a bit of tackling and chasing...looked a much better player as a result, the rewards didn't come today but that should be the want every week.
He’s been carrying an injury. Even in the vision during the week when he was at Auskick, he was wearing a compression sock on one leg. He looked like he had more freedom today for sure. I’m backing him to explode after the bye.

Agreed. In form, we win easily but our skill kept it to a close margin & our efforts ensured a win.

jeez, I needed a bex and a good lie down after that. Hopefully a catalyst for the team, get the first one out the way. Need some goalkicking practice this week methinks, pretty poor at times.

Agree with all of these.
I think Ladham has massive upside. Good composure in tight and more dangerous when rotating forward. Let’s be honest - Grundy has been getting belted since mid way last year and as an ex ruckman I can guarantee you Cox hasn’t missed this
