Can’t blame Dunkley for going now he was right, clubs going nowhere.

Have to look at every aspect of the club and imo clear it out. Recruiting has been horrible, drafting has been decent but JUH and Darcy were gifts.

Coach no longer has the ability to get the boys to rise to the occasion and that’s always been his best asset as a coach.

Assistants are full of what seems like people that no other club would want.

Admin is spineless and the president spent more time working on becoming the ceo of the afl than assuring our club was in a position to win flags.

The worst thing about that loss is that I don’t even care at this point.
 
This game was lost at the selection and by the match day coaching. I cannot believe that Sweet was not given a game, when you needed a tough gorilla in the ruck and you could have put English in the forward line rotating with him. This is criminal. If I were Sweet if Port or West Coast offer me a deal, I would leave today in disgust. Also we need to clean out players a number of players. but a new coach is needed. our season is gone. Lucky I am off to Spain for 2.5 months to enjoy the summer, because watching that game after the first quarter was dreadful. Again they kicked 6 goals to 1 in a period of between the second and third quarter. THIS IS JUST TERRIBLE COACHING.

There was no rush. People like our apparent President probably just wanted to get it out the way due to having other emails to attend too.

Not really, but I'll go further than that. Except for a few moments in 2021, our team has seemed stale, uninspired and a bit off for the best part of seven years. Maybe we've been paralysed by the expectations that came after winning the flag. Not sure. Anyway, that's just my own gut feel. It's been year after year of meh.

As a supporter, it's hard to resist the feeling of wanting us to bottom out somewhat...so that we can fill the WO with quality youth and a new regime to build around the obvious core of top end talent that we have. So that we can dream again. This...this...is just purgatory at the moment.

EDIT: Let me clarify, I'm not saying they had bad games but they both had kicks in Q4 when we were in front with open targets inside 50 and they both turned it over which lead to shots for Sydney.

Treloar was another who mis kicked to them in a crucial play. Very sad and angering game.

Bottoming out would probably cost us one (or more!) of Naughton/English/Smith.
 
Not sure why Treloar is under attack he got plenty of the ball agree did not use it well but I least he got it. Gee our bottom 6 players are equal to the worst in the AFL except for WCE. McNeill, Scott, Poulter, Duryea, Keath and Gardner. Jury out West, VDM and Garcia. L plates JOD and Sam and injured tonight.

No wonder we are a very average team.

Mate we lost the game in that period where they kicked 6 goals to our 1 solitary goal in more than 30 minutes of footy. That is not the umps. That is bad coaching full stop. Changes are needed. WE also cannot play with underperforming players week in week out.

I just worry that I look forward to watching Collingwood play every weekend more than watching us at times. If I ever say the same about Richmond, would someone just off me. Please.

Because he was ****ing atrocious with it, that's why, he butched 99% of his disposals. I would actually drop him based on that game.
 
Just the classic Bulldogs game that was. It's not even worth getting angry about anymore. It's just what we serve up every week.

1 - Win all the key indicators - clearance, inside 50s, contested possesions

2 - Hack kicks around the corner without looking. Treloars in the last quarter takes the cake.

3 - Leave everything up to the same 6-8 players. Bottom half a dozen not up to it.


Letting Franklin take contested marks inside 50 is also hilarious.
 
Our short, inside handball ball game just kills us........and has for years now. It so rarely comes off, when it does it looks swashbuckling and that's the problem, I think the players are intoxicated by it........it seems so engrained in their game....that comes from the training paddock and the coaching staff.

You're not alone. Watching Bulldogs games has felt like a chore since the beginning of last year (and was the same for much of 2017-2020).
