I have zero interest in Fantasy Footy but there is an interview with Matty Roberts at about the 25 minute mark that is not only about Fantasy.

Matty says he'll be playing the same sort of role across half back. Mills will likely play midfield, that's where he's been training all pre-season - "he's been flying all pre-season". Cox "hasn't changed too much" of the gameplan. "He's put his own little spin on a few things... he's tweaked a few things especially in defence... not much has changed with the game plan". Errol "will play as he normally does... natural progression, he'll spend a bit more time inside with Isaac and those boys".

Gussy Sheldrick and Corey Warner are two younger boys who haven't consistently been playing but both have been "flying" in pre-season. Also Caiden Cleary - "he's quick and fit".

Liked playing opening round [last year] so that pre-season was a week shorter and could get into playing games sooner.

IMO Cox doesn't need to change the game plan much at all, just the personnel to better & more consistently execute it. (Which is not to say the personnel last year wasn't "good", I just don't think it was always "right.")

In fairness, we all complain about our list depth. Combine that with the fact David King knows like five Swans players and it's not that surprising a take.

Sorry, Jewles. I'm just really struggling to believe this year. I believed so much until the Dogs/Port double debacles. Then they got me back in with how we played against GWS and Port in the finals. And then the Sydney I remember all to well came back. Again.

Short term I'd take a few 12th years out of those alternatives.

But never really want that as there's always the danger you get comfortable with lower expectations and get stuck in a perpetual rebuild.

Oh for sure. 2019 and 2020 felt OK because we rebounded in 2021 and 2022 in spectacular fashion

Four out of 8. Of course. At this stage of the year it's throwing darts at the board.

But. honestly Geelong? They have a better record than us in making finals, recall they just lost the PF in an epic. That is a real stinker

I feel this. The cold hard reality about this list is that we have a game plan that makes us look like a million bucks in the H&A season but doesn't win flags. It'll be interesting to see if Cox is able to change this
