Nah Hurley had more than enough time to make it as a forward, cant mark and didnt hit the scoreboard enough. Carlisle is struggling but we have to give him more time even if it looks like all of them will end up defenders anyway.

Hurley made more impact up forward in the first 5 rounds last year than Carlisle has this year...
Carlisle has done SFA up forward and appears to be getting worse with each passing week.

Hurley had played at least 20 games as a forward at that point and his so called impact was nothing special. Look hurley may prove to be a less shit forward than carlisle but he was a still a shit forward. Give carlisle a few more games I say and if he doesnt improve then so be it. Like I said they are both most likely end up defenders anyway.

Still think he needs time to develop, watch and learn playing on the big forwards for a few seasons before going into attack

Was Hurley really that bad as a forward? if not for some inaccurate kicking at times he was pretty useful up there and knows how to crash a pack, in his past 50 games prior to this season he had 140 shots at goal which isn't all that great by any stretch but I cant see Carlisle having a better impact and I think offers more as a defender than Hurley. Switch them back

Carlisle was unbelievable in the back line last year. He was good forward when he drifted up, or had to be clutch at the end.
I was neutral when he was moved forward, but now looking back they have ruined our best structure to try and help a position where we have no structure.
Hurley would actually compliment Daniher as Hurley was explosive on the lead and could create space for a 1on1, which would be Daniher's strength. At the moment Carlisle and Daniher are too alike and when others just bomb it in, it is a hard to beat a pack who have already dropped a man back. Last year when Hurley wasn't injured he was taking the #1 defender, and now Daniher is getting it every week. He is in his 2nd year, he should not be getting the #1 defender. He would have it so much easier at any other club.
Hurley is strong, has good acceleration and kind of reliable set shot. If he was worth a big 5 year deal he better show it.
To sum it up Carlisle back, Hurley CHF, and cut that ****ing ponytail.

I still think he offers more forward than Jake and Jake offers more in defence than Hurls

I think Hurls has been beaten by 2 champions of the game and needs to stay in defence so he gets used to it.
When TBC returns Jakey goes back.

I agree, but they cant all play down back, its almost sad to see a player like Carlisle wasting away like that.

Sorry - Hooker usually plays on the number 2 forward - That's why he didn't play on Pavlich or Riewoldt ?
We already swapped Carlisle and Hurley.

Think the difference between Hurley and Carlisle forward is that Hurley's average/poor games are better than Carlisle's poor/average games. Biggest issue with Carlisle is that he isn't getting the number one defender ( Hurley nearly always did ) which makes it tough for JD. Think we have too persist longer but Hooker could end up forward.
