I must be reading a different thread to you.

In the last post on the subject I made yesterday I asked for actual proof there was bullying taking place, not as a former admin but as a moderator for BigFooty. We've put in new measures and introduced new mods but still to this day not one person has come forward to either the mods or the admin to express their concerns. It's hard to do anything when this is the case. If anything the only real tangible indication we had of a poster feeling bullied it was from another team, not the chat group but even that poster hasn't vocalised it past a PM with somebody else. The other stuff though, as far as I'm concerned, has very little pulse now but there will always be some form of banter around it, that's just not going to change.

TBH, I feel that the vast majority aren't complaining/whinging/bringing to the attention of others about real bullying, more the group responses which are actually quite juvenile and smother the thread.

Yeah. It really doesn't happen as much as people think it does, especially nowadays and usually when it does it's in threads designed to bait the response anyway. In this thread a pretty damning accusation was made, people are entitled to defend themselves. Personally I think the most annoying aspects of these debates are the people that come in complaining about them a day after they ended.

But again, we've not yet had an instance of somebody complaining about this and I'll wager you that the specific instances in the league were started by the person being posted against. It's a weird mindset to post with... "all these people are disagreeing with me and nobody is backing me up... I'm being bullied!". I think we know what the real answer is here.

I will guarantee you there are no incidences of orchestrated group responses, at least from the group chat I am in. They are just shared disagreements by active posters at one time.

It's not exclusive to the Sweet FA, it is part of the fabric of every single corner of the internet. It's a big call to suggest there has been no instances of bullying, because that would assume any potential victim would come out and say they are feeling bullied. Obviously, there very well may be no instances of it, but in the interests in the league, it may be best to assume there is and look at how we can avoid it in the future. I also would never suggest that there have orchestrated group responses, I don't think anyone in the league, and especially members that appear to be in this group chat, would stoop that low. If a poster attacks a group, the likely response is that members of the group respond. Herein lays the issue though. It naturally becomes a group of posters ganging up on individuals, even if it is in no way orchestrated, or even discussed.

There is no real easy solution, because in many cases it is individuals picking fights with the group, but in some cases you can sort of understand why. It is also easy to say that it's fizzling out, but it won't while the group still exist and posters still have a reason to feel victimised. Don't get me wrong, it would be shit to see a group dissolve, because people keep picking fights with it. I absolutely don't think a group that is autonomous from the Sweet FA should even be brought up in the first place. I do think, however, that solutions should be explored in the off-season; whether that is a designated mouthpiece for all BC affairs, the BC ignoring all mentions of the group in the Sweet FA, or penalties for bringing social media rubbish into the Sweet FA in the first place, in my view, there has to be something to fight against this, because I doubt it will naturally fizzle out.

Why do I care anyway? I'll go missing again as soon as the Wonders win the GF.
