I do feel a little guilty as I did mention to the neutral missus that I kinda hoped the stretcher wagon collected another ump on the way off

Yeah. When my wife asked what happened to him, I said he had been hit by the karma bus.

Felt bad afterwards when he was still down, but I was pretty fired up at the time.

Let's be honest, we have no semblance of a structure. Players have no idea what to do so they just bomb it long to our shithouse forward line.

If this chipping it around bullshit is part of the "gameplan" (I use that term loosely) then it needs to change. We aren't Geelong, our players don't have the skill to consistently hit up targets. We need to run run run.

Forward line sucks. Worst in the league. 6th straight game we haven't hit 10+ goals. Will continue to suck for at least this year, and if we don't end up getting a decent forward in the off-season it will continue to suck until JD comes on.

EVERYONE has a rip at the umpire. When he went down, of course people were going to let him have it due to his BOG performance for Sydney.
When it was realised how 'serious' it was I think people pulled their heads in pretty quick.

Not really, despite the first quarter we were good. Play that way against Brisbane and Doggies and we walk away with 60 point wins.
How were we good in anyway? We once again failed to kick 10 goals for an entire game.

To discount the first quarter is sheer stupidity as well as it was pretty much junk time from then on.

I though there were a lot of impressive signs tonight.

Goals from Paddy and Carlisle, Zaha getting some form, Bellchambers back. I think we will take a lot out of this.

Chapman, Howlett and Winders in for Aylett, Jerrett and Ambrose and we will be firing.

With Australia's draw, get the lube ready. At least we get to see what it means to be truly elite(a word that gets thrown around far too much in AFL).

heck Carlton!
I'm just as excited to watch neutral games.

You have one game scoring 65pts.. maybe it can be called a 'good game without the result'.. but 6 weeks in a row of this crap and it isn't an aberration it is the norm.

So we have a football team that can not score over 65pts.. That leaves the list of clubs you may be able to beat fairly short. Yep, we may be able to beat the bottom four sides.. except St Kilda and possibly Melbourne.. but it will not be good enough against the best.

I just can't wait for the bye to end.. for us to get some soft wins in the next couple of weeks and then we can all pretend reality is there. I don't mind delusional land.. far better than watching my team fail yet another season.

we have no forward structure. None.

Saying Carlisle 'looked better' up forward cause he kicked two.. is like saying Tippett 'broke even' because he kicked 3 cheap ones.. both are the same crime of looking at the end result without understanding the process. Hardingham kicked two against Freo too.. didn't make it a good game for him!!

Ryder showed that a good lead CAN be rewarded by our midfield and our midfielders appreciated having someone to kick it too... This is why Hurley makes sense up forward.. at least he makes a contest and crashes some bodies..

I actually think that were some positives as well. ****ing going soft in my old age

I agree with Bomba in one part, Hurley was ready to throw the toys out of the cot but he actually kept going in the last half. It would have been an easy decision to change him but I think he learnt more staying on Buddy. Hookesy had a lot of similar lessons over the last 4 years - I'd imagine he'd like a float about forward before the other ****ers.

Obviously stoke the Socceroos made it.. what an achievement for our minnow country to compete against the world's elite.. but I watch it for the 'neutral' games too.. seeing the worlds best against each other.. classic stuff.. and still see the difference in national styles.. the flair of south america against the tight defence of Germany.. the passing approach of european soccer against the solo play makers of africa.. electric stuff!

Of course if we make it to the Round of 16 I wouldn't be displeased...!!! :D:D:D

First the quality of the opposition is top 2-3 in the league, we got rogered by the umpires to the tune of about 7 goals. The way that played was a 4-5 goal loss against good opposition. It's all relative, the team isn't where we thought it would be, but in context with the last 5 weeks of football that was the best we've played.

Junk time is a rubbish concept, the pressure and intensity increased not waned. Especially when the margin is 36 points with 3 quarters to go. Teams can run that down in 15 mins.

It seems our defenders get an annual opportunity to 'learn a lot' staying on Buddy.. they must really look forward to the yearly seminar on how to get beaten one on one and play a man into top notch form..

I'm adopting Belgium as my second team. I'm pretty excited.

If we make the round of 16, I will do something ridiculous that I haven't decided yet.

Last year I could almost bear the ASADA shit.. cause at least you got a break from it for the weekend.. a reason to watch the club.. celebrate and enjoy what footy is about..

Now we don't even get that. We are back to the Knight era.. shit footy.. shit structures..

Hmm come to think of it.. this is exactly how shit we played under Knights.. sloppy skills, poor turnovers, lack of run, lack of composure, kamikaze attack mixed with long periods of over possession.. eek
