Sydney has gone past Melbourne not only for lifestyle, look of the city, tourism, international brand recognition and iconic buildings, now they have taken Melbourne's final coping mechanism where Melbournians can point to for any kind of superiority: Sport. Sydney owns the AFL now. Sydney and GWS just obliterating embarrassing Melbourne based teams this year, especially Essendon who were exposed as fake tough guys. They are the most exciting teams in the AFL by far. They even opened the AFL season in Sydney city!

Geelong is currently voting to try and pick up their entire city and move it a few extra kilometres away just so they don't have to be so close to the stinky, ugly, dark burnt out city that is Melbourne.
